Glanding SWA into plastic CCU? Domestic

What are peoples opinions on... Coming from a metal wylex 80A sw/fuse in a 25mm SWA to feed a plastic consumer unit? A slight differnce of opinion on site this morning!! I'm thinking the consumer unit should be metal cased, although another spark doesn't see why, other than the strength of the...

    Looking for a specific gland.

I'm trying to source a type of gland we used to use many years ago on commercial appliances. It's a standard 20 or 25mm gland for a trailing cable but it has a stiff stainless steel criss-cross very loosely woven wire assembly on the back of it that assists the bend radius of the cable where it...

    Gland banjo fitting

Looked at a DB yesterday and noticed that all 8 circuits were using the armour as the CPC, but the banjos at the DB end were just screwed into the steel enclosure using self drilling screws for steel. Surely this isn't correct. I have salways been shown and told that if the armour is the CPC...

    Gland Sizing for 10mm2 SWA

Sorry for this query but want to double check on this. I've terminated 10mm2 SWA before and always used a CW25 gland. However the knockouts on the enclosure I'm working on are 20mm and some sizing guides suggest a CW20 is suitable for 3 core 10mm2 SWA. Can anyone confirm whether a CW20...

    SWA Gland (correct termination of)

Topic of much debate... Is there reasons to fit the earth tag on the inside of the metal enclosure? The one about preventing corrosion does not wash with me as the enclosure is not IP68 rated thus cannot protect from corrosion inside. I have always been taught to fit brass tag on the outside...
