Hi folks,
Just had a rewire done but subsequently had to replace two ceilings which meant an electrician removing my heat alarm from the ceiling.
I'm looking to reconnect it now and don't want to waste a day waiting for the electrician to come back out but unsure of the wiring terminations and...

This clearly shows the 10% degression for biomass...
Hi I have recently been to look at my friends newly built extension. The guy asked me about the fire alarms and how I would go about doing them as he wasn't sure . I advised that the way to meet regulation would be to take the existing Battery powered alarms down, and hard wire from an RCBO in...

Hi, I need to install 2 separate underfloor heat mats both rated at 17A on individual 20A breakers. The heatmat controls are rated at 16A so I think it would have to go through a contactor right? I can install an enclosure in a cupboard for the contactors but would I have to use 2 x 1 pole...

Hi all,
Wondered if anyone could please tell me what is the minimum distance required above convection heaters for the kind of wide plastic trunking that carries cables and has sockets inset into it - the sort that's like a dado rail.
It's in a portacabin if that makes any difference.
Ta very...
installing some 2x 35w flourescent fittings in an office and they are clearly designed for entry thru the ceiling straight into the terminals but the old ones were wired in singles in conduit so have drilled 20mm holes in lights for side feeding etc. One of them in particular has got me a bit...

I will be installing several smoke - heat and carbon monoxide detectors shortly as per spec. I've not done carbon monoxide detectors before. I take it, electrically wiring them is the same as smoke and heat detectors. They will be wired and interconnected on one circuit and protected by a RCBO...

You are probably aware of these Forms A, B and C on the MCS site:

which we have to complete prior to connecting a heat pump.
I want to put the application in early on one of my jobs because it is a largish heat pump and in a village and I want...
Hi,
This is my first posting here so apologies for any transgressions, upsets, etc.

I have just priced a job with an heat pump and 45sqm of underfloor heating in an extension. Another company has quoted for the job with vat @5% across the board while have charged it @5% for the hp work and 20% for the underfloor kit + labour. How are you guys charging vat on these jobs.
