Hi guys, just want a quick sanity check on an installation.
a chap wants 3, 3Kw heaters wired with a programmable thermostat to control all 3 heaters.
my thoughts are:
40A supply to a Contactor ( L-1, N-3)
heaters connected to the contactor ( L-2, N-4)
then a Perm live to the thermostat...

Hi.
I have economy 7 white meter storage heaters which were running on a three rate meter. The meter had a day rate, a night rate and a separate storage heater rate. Everything worked fine. After the meter was changed to a standard single rate meter my storage heaters now no longer heat up over...
My friend has recently opened a shop which he is renting from the council. It was refurbed before he moved in and the council replaced all sockets and switches, to a poor standard it must be said. They have also cut off the flexes to the night store heaters in the shop so it's pretty cold in...
Looking at ways to survive post 2015, and remembered a possible project we'd looked at a while back for a housing association in flats with all electric storage heating, which means that solar pv qualifies for ECO funding under the HHCRO stream.
But I can't find any guidance on how to calculate...

I live in a park home, it has off peak storage heaters and off peak bottom element on the hot water tank. If I just have the three heaters on[elnur 2x1.7 and one 900w combination with convector] it normally works fine although it has tripped once. But if all are on plus the immersion the main...
Hi all, been dipping into this forum for a while, then thought I would sign up. Just to explain myself, I do gas and oil work, and have a couple of sparks I call on when necessary

Cut a long story short, housing association property, won't put a rad in small kitchen due to only viable space being where it would block a washing machine in. Now, looking at cost effectiveness, and due to the space being only about 6sq metres, I'm thinking a small panel heater will be best...
Evening all
i was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the dimpled quantum range. It has a dual supply one from the off and one on peak.
The installation instructions are rubbish and give little guidelines to the specific cable and mcb sizes only the unit cables are peak 1.5 and off peak...

I have x 3 panel heaters to install on x 3 16A circuits.
However, there is only one spare way at the mains board.
Any reason why I cannot use the spare way for a 50A mcb and 10mm t/e to supply a sub main with x 3 16A mcb's for the three heater circuits in 2.5mm t/e.
No way of getting enough...
Okay, this was a thread that was posted in the main forum. The guy has 8 heaters which are cabled to a control panel where they are switched on and off by contactors.
The control panel is supplied with a 3-phase supply from a local DB and each heater is protected individually by a 16A MCB...

Hoping for some advice please. A switch tripped a few days ago in my Consumer unit - only realised as my hot water boiler didn't seem to be working. I assume this may have been caused by the hallway light bulb blowing. I moved the switch back to the 'On' position. The problem I have is that my...
Hi all, having a bit of an issue with the above meter. I have owned it for about a year now and have recently noticed I am getting a reading a reading of around 9 ohms between the leads. As far as I'm aware there is no way of nulling the leads but I might be missing something? I don't use it for...
