HNC what next?

Hello people i'm a qualified spark a year or so out of my apprenticeship, i'm looking to do my hnc but i'm not quite sure what kind of work it qualifies me to do, any suggestions? i'd hate to work for a local authority mind, the guys at ne lincs council all seem to be a bit up themselves!
