Hi, I'm a DIY'er but not a DIY electrician. I have a 3.5kW oven (15A min. 20A max. fuse) and want to connect a separate 7.4kW hob on the same 40A kitchen circuit. Looking at other posts in this forum it looks like it’s ok with a dual outlet, but do you need the cable dia. To check this first, or...
Hi guys here is the situation, switching all 4 heaters in induction hob(7.4kW)and it stops working.Taking out the oven (2.5kW)which is just underneath and find out that hob and oven are both plugged in to double socket. There is no cooker connection unit but there is cooker switch above. From the...
Hi, replacing gas hob with Zannusi 7.3kw (max)32a induction hob, and oven with aeg 3.2kw(max) 16a. I was going to put hob on existing 32a 6mm separate circuit, simple swap. However, my question is, can I put the oven on the other 32a kitchen ring circuit? Both require hard wire not plug and...
Hi, new here. Not a qualified electrican. Not wanting to self-instal. Not clueless though.
I have searched on 'induction hobs' here, before posting.
Question: what induction hob(s) are there on the market that do NOT self-limit to well below their (typically 7-8kW) rated maximum power, when...
Second post on an EICR I did today (always a good sign!)
70s flat with earthed conduit and singles. 6mm runs from the CU to presumably where an old cooker switch was - at some point that was tiled over somehow and is now inaccessible - what emerges below the worktop is 2 x 2.5 Twin and Earth -...
Hi,
I have recently purchased a new kitchen including applicances (which I am waiting to be delivered). I am looking to sort out my electrics and get the sockets and fuses in the right place.
Is there any reason why I can't plug the fridge/freezer and gas hob to same double socket?
The...
I’ve been looking for the right answer and just can’t seem to find it.
I had an induction hob installed by a certified electrician, and there are no apparent problems so far, however, it is installed on the CU, RCD and upstream with a RCCB with no MCB,
I’m just not 100% sure if it’s the safest...
Anyone know a decent online retailer that actually lists their hobs by recess dimensions (or even lists them at all in some cases?)
Side rant - why do a lot of appliance websites tell you all the information except the bits an installer might actually want to know, like recess dimensions or...
Hi all!
so I a chippy I work with installed a little kitchen, all appliances supplied from howdens - this particular brand is Lamona.
existing 32A ring was extended to pick up a few items (mini extractor, built in microwave, the hob and a countertop twin socket. Circuit tested out fine - a...
Hello, two parts here....please forgive any incorrect terminology used!
I am looking to replace my gas hob with an induction hob (this one: electriQ 52cm Canopy Cooker Hood Kitchen Extractor Fan in Silver - 5 Year Warranty eiQ52CANOPY | Appliances Direct - https://tinyurl.com/1jipb3dj) which...
Hi everyone.
There is something that confuses me so I hope someone could answer.
There is an electrical Hob which is 7.8KW and electrical oven which is lets say manufacture instruction says 13A so somwhere around 2.0KWs.
If you apply diversity on Hob it comes to somwhere around 17A and I know...
I've just spent an hour getting bogged down with the maths trying to work out diversity for 2 cooking appliances on the same circuit (32A MCB) and same isolation switch,
I thought I would give my workings so others can use it as I wonder if some just assume you can still use the 15kW maximum...
We've recently brought a new build house and it's come with an AEG induction hob. We quickly realised there wasn't enough power to heat more than 2 pans at once. Rather pointless given its a 4 ring hob and slightly challenging cooking xmas dinner!
We've had Bellway out and they explained its a...
Good afternoon.
I'm fitting a new kitchen with a new hob and oven. I hope to use just 1 isolation switch for both appliances. Together the wattage size is almost 11kW.
Do I need 10mm cable with a 50A MCB?
Is that right?
Thanks.
I've been asked to install a cooker and electric hob. However I've been told that the cables for the electric hob have come loose.
Any suggestions on where they should be going?
Hi, i was given measurements from the tenant and they happemed to be slighty wrong. Now iv already ran cables and the plasterer has already done his job. Looking at the pictures the tenant sent me, the accessorries seem a little close to the hob. What can be done now? Do you think its ok as it...
Hi everyone,
Just having new kicthen installed and noticed that they wired 2.5mm HR flex off the cooker switch. The 2.5mm HR flex feeds to a dual cooker outlet which will power a 16amp cooker and a 32amp induction hob. The cooker switch is 6mm cable with a 32amp breaker.
Is this okay?
Many...
hello, we have recently brought a new build house and we want to upgrade our gas hob for an induction hob, we have already brought the hob which requires 32AMP and is 7.4KW power
our house layout makes it a little tricky and expensive to rewire a new circuit through (which we should have...
Hi
When we had the electrics installed for our new kitchen (few months back) we were advised by the electrician at the time to just add a standard plug to the wire of the hob extractor fan (once it was installed).
I have finally come to do this, but would like confirmation that it is safe and...
