Installation of a cooker in a renovated property, electric oven and a separate induction hob. The hob was to be gas - now with the induction hob, can it be fed from the oven radial via a dual wall outlet? The radial from the Consumer unit is 10mm T + E. The local isolation requirement can be met...
I bought a new hob as we are fitting a new kitchen, we got all the other new appliances wired in, but the hob is a bit more complicated, it has 2 live wires then 1 negative and 1 earth, the wire coming out of the socket where it needs wired into where my old cooker was installed only has 1 live...
Just some clarification please.
Max demand for cooking devices.
OSG says 10A + 30% of "connected cooking appliances in excess of 10A + 5A" if a socket is available in the isolator. The oven and hob are two devices. Does the 15A apply to both of them or just the first one?
eg: Oven 4.8 kW Hob...
I have been told by a local spark that one can not run an induction hob on a 4mm T+E.
From my understanding, most induction hobs are 7-8kW and "require" 6-10mm T+E but our housebuilder only put 4mm because they are cheap.
Or maybe I am cheap for not coughing up £500 for a £150 induction hob...
Hi,
I'm replacing an old electric oven with an induction hob. There's an existing cooker 45A cooker switch running on 6mm cable which they've wired up to a standard socket and a plug on the oven. My new hob is rated at 7.3kw and it states to use specific cables for heat safety.
I'm looking at...
Hope you guys can help, how hot will it get behind my under bench top oven with a hob above on the bench top ? The cable touches the back of the oven from the oven itself and I am sure the hob cable, I believe there is also a plastic junction box back there, could that melt or is the heat less...

I'm after some advice. We've just had a new Neff induction hob fitted. Only one side is working. 3 areas have an error code 5 13 on it. I've spoken to Neff and they say the error codes relate to an installation error and won't help but the electrician is adamant it's a faulty hob. They've used...
Hi all.
Could someone clarify why there is two hob power ratings on AEG IKB64301FB Electric Induction Hob - Black - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/cooking/hobs/aeg-ikb64301fb-electric-induction-hob-black-10186499-pdt.html

Hi
I’ve just had a new kitchen and an induction hob installed which is on its own 32amp rcbo but my question is the total load rating is 7.35 for the induction hob which is just below 32amp if I’ve worked that out properly and it’s fitted to a cooker switch with a socket on which will have...
Does anybody no what else I can do to help rectify the lighting issues. I have tried moving the contacts for the bulbs but no joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi colleagues
A friend of mine has purchased this electric hob for his kitchen.
https://ao.com/product/bhii6015-baumatic-induction-hob-black-47830-39.aspx
It shows on the spec that it has to be hard wired by a spark.
So after calculating the amperage (5400÷230), I'm getting 23.4amps...
I've just purchased a new touch control hob as my old unit eventually gave up the ghost. I wired it directly into the cooker circuit just as the old one was but it refused to turn on. Nothing, not a peep. So i took it back to the retailer who, without a quibble replaced it. I wired this the same...

Hi all,
I have just been to a job where the existing hob is wired in using 2.5mm heat resistant cable, the hob is rated at 6000w. I calculate this to need a 4mm cable, however, was challenged by someone, in the end I called NICEIC who stayed neutral and said it "might be ok, what do the...

10mm T+E to 45A Cooker Switch (approx 13 metres),
