Hi,
I was wondering if anyone would know what the acceptable minimum and maximum on a single/three phase main incoming voltage should be. From what I have gathered you have a tolerance of +10 230V -6. Could you also quote from where it is mentioned in the wiring regs.
Thanks.
Hi,
With reference to the main incoming supplies on mainly 3 phase and the requirement to fill in the Type of supply & the fuse rating for the supply, sometimes together with the Main switch details - I often have dificulty with these as the majority of times the supply cable and incoming fuses...
ok,lets say the transformer getting input voltages 380-400-440-480-660-690 V and out put is 230-440 v,the tappings provided for the incoming voltages but the incoming will be the same connection either it can be of any voltages, how can it be done by the use of relay and contactors for different...
We've got a problem with a VO unit we've fitted, and after speaking with all the manufacturers of full house domestic VO units (ie not Vphase), we've realised that they're all far from ideal, and this is the sort of glitch we're going to be coming across time and again if we keep installing...

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and its due to the fact that I have my AM2 exam this coming Monday.
I just have a few questions.

What is the general size of a incoming mains into a small 3 bedroom house? The main fuse is 60 amp. The enclosure where the mains splits and goes to the main switch is sealed and crimped so couldn't look but the tails look to be 16/25mm. Sorry I don't have a pic as a big cupboard was built...

Is it possible to take the PV circuit from the inverter via it's own RCBO in the CU into the incoming breaker thus connecting to the main live tail before the house circuits.
Will the PV then only flow past the breaker if it is required to feed house load and any balance will be exported...
went to a job couple of days ago where supplier hadnt supplied earth and looks like it was taking from the water pipe.

Just after some thoughts from you guys. Working on a job at the moment where the loads on the supply are increasing daily! Currently have a standard 100A single phase supply in but the customer is having a gym installed including a steam room, sunbed and two air con units (16A each). The next...
Just wondering if some of the experts thought there were definite advantages & disadvantages of splitting the incoming tails using a Henley Block etc and supplying a separate dedicated supply to the PV system as opposed to simply using a dedicated MCB/spur within the CU ??
After a little bit of advice please
