HI
I opened up my se4000 and found no rj45 plug socket, all i found was a set of termination pins with ethernet marked on them.
I thought i followed the wiring correct but my solar edge monitoring site has had no data sent, even though the lcd display says s ok.
Has anybody had a solaredge...
Went to a house the other day as dining room lights not working. 4 x 40/50w gu10's on a dimmer, dimmer faulty.
Looking round the house there was an incredible amount of incandescent lighting mostly on dimmers so I suggested to customer that it may be worth spending an extra couple of £'s on the...
Hello everyone
Need a bit of advise I have been asked to install a bath in a room that was previously a wet room for a disabled person. Now as per usual the customers don't want to spend a lot of money.
At the moment there is an electric shower installed at a height of approximately 750mm to...
Do cookers need to be connected with heat resistant flex and if so can you tell me where the reg is. Have been arguing with a collegue about this. Thanks
I was looking at one of these to upgrade an existing fan. It is installed in conjunction with a double pole fused spur isolator. The timer control takes a permanent live and a switched live. So if the double pole switch is off and the bathroom light is still on then the fan timer unit unit still...
Yes, its that time of year again, got my library, certificates, calibration certificate, insurance, paperwork in order.
Got a site where I did recently finished a total rewire available for site visit.
Got tea/coffee & bickies ready.
Any suggestions for what they are asking this year?
My electrician says he can't sign off the installation in my new loft conversion because the 240V extractor fan is in zone 1 (directly above the shower), and hence violates the Regs. He says the easiest option is to replace it with a 12V one, and locate the transformer remotely.
Disappointed, I...

I attended the Elecsa update in Woking last night - useful as it was there was one "thing" that stood out was their emphasis on extractor fans being fused down to the "manufacturers instructions".
So given that 90%+ of fans suggest fusing down to 3A, and given that most will need live and...
Reading the new Wickes catalogue. I like the two pages on Gas Safe and using a registered installer
The electrical section no mention of safety / Part P or anything, altought they do have this little gem on offer.
You'll notice the the last line states "Fitting and installation instructions...
Just picked up a timed fan and 3 pole switch. Fan is 4" 20 watt. I was going to run 3 core and earth from 3 plate light via 3 pole switch and to fan as per normal.
Just read manufacturers instructions and it says must be a double pole fused (3 amp) spur. Can't see the logic to that.
What...
I've recently just installed a floorwarmers UFH system. Consists of two cables and two IB-TR8100 thermostats (touch screen types).
Installed as instructions detailed.
But now when powered up the floor temp just reads error which indicates (from instructions). The is the same with both units.
Did...
Hi All,
I have a shower to install for a very difficult customer. When quoted for the job I stated as its only on 6mm cable so she has to get a shower of equal or less kw than the one being replaced. So what does she do? Buys a 9.5kw shower when I pointed out the wording on the quote she...
Went to change mcbs to rcbo's in a wylex board that's used for total control heating. Then I hit a problem as some off the rcbo's don't fit as the neutral bar is in the way! Instead of the main neutral feed to the bar being cable it was one of those copper pre made ones so can't move it up...
Hi
Hopefully somebody out there can help with a small problem we have with some car park lighting. After looking at the Board, they seem to be controlled by a timer control uint marked 'Square D CPT 2' there are two of these as well as Square D units CLS110 and CCN225. The CPT2 unit is...
