hi
I have recently done a job, replacing 17 down lights in a kitchen with 17 x 10w led down lights and replacing 7 under cabinet lights with 4 x led strip light kits (4 drivers).
They are on a type 2 mcb, the downlights are split across 2 switches and the under cabinet lights are on their own...
Hi everyone
We have a couple of NEXT ceiling lights in the living and dining room. Both the transformers have gone and replacement transformers are about £35 each, however I'm worried they may keep blowing and its going to get costly to replace them often. A friend suggested removing the...
Hello all, My name is Jenni and I am working to develop a system for backlighting artworks using edge lit light guide panels and led strips.
I have looked into the different light guide panels available, all are some variation on 3D laser etched acrylic. However, these light guide panels seem...
First post all so go easy lads....
What's people's views on maximum amount of LEDS on a 6amp mcb lighting circuits?? 6w LED GU10s throughout. Wired in 1mm twin and earth. Maximum cable runs??? Nearly every spark I speak to has a different verdict. Should we still be considering if 50w halogens...
HI All
I posted a thread a while back about a house purchase, where my wife and I are renovating. The sparks has just started to chase walls etc (God love him, would hate that job) before he gets onto the interesting wiring bit!
Just trying to decide on a few things, hope you can advise:
We...

Hi guys...I'm not a spark but can I ask your advice.
We have 6 GU10 halogens in our kitchen...they use a lot of electricity and I would like to replace them with LEDs.
I tried this maybe 18months ago...and the result was disappointing...the bulbs where quite dim...but where supposed to be...

Hello all. I work at a rescue boat and we use a converted Thwaites 5 ton dumper truck as our launch vehicle. It has orange flashing LEDs on the front but sometime they will just turn off. Obliviously theI sea water has its effects on the tractor but it seems at low rpms the lights turn on and...

I'm in the process of quoting to illuminate a bit of listed stained glass and am looking at LED options. One concern is what effect the LED may have on the glass in the long term, will it affect the pigmentation at all?
White LEDs affect regular theatrical colour filters at a surprising rate...
Does anybody here have issues with changing 12V lamps to GU10 LED lamps in the same fitting?
Obviously involves taking out the transformer, changing the lamp holder and putting the fitting back.
I only ask because:
a) The tin cans usually have a label that says 12V
b) The tin cans are not...
Has anyone had any experience with LED Fluorescent light fittings (strip lights).
A customer of mine wants all of the lamps in her property replaced with LED ones. A few wholsalers seem to think you can just swap over the lamps and they will work without having to install new drivers etc.
Is...

I have been told I can power leds from my old PC PSU as a cost effective way of using my old unused computer. I need advice on what I can drive with them.
I want to use 10w square LEDs which require 10-12v DC and 1050mA each. I am aware that most of the outputs are 12v from the PSU. Does this...
