Hi all just got quick question 60 A Main service fuse total house rewire worked out tat Max demand using x 0.4 will be 64.8 A just wondering if it might be worth giving DNO a ring to see if its possible to upgrade to 80 A main fuse is it worth ringing?
Hi guys
Can someone pls tell me if the max output current (iacmax) on an inverter data sheet is the max output current per inverter or per phase!
Thanks

Hypothetical situation, power supplied from a generator - So a temporary installation.
BS 61009 Type C 100mA RCBO – 32A fitted at generator
Cable run is approx. 300m, in 4mm HO7 Rubber PVC flexible cable ran outdoors, terminated in a 32A socket (single phase)
Ze = 0.03 ohm
Maximum Zs is 0.72...
Guys,
I have been asked to calculate the maximum demand for a DNO who want the information before upgrading the metering to 3 phase. The client has 3 phase coming in to the building but only single phase meter.
The building is a small commercial warehouse unit (4m x 6M) with some upstairs and...
My cleint has a small holiday lodge and wanting to remove hot water cylinder and night storage heaters and replace with instanious water heater and panel heaters. As he is only in lodge a day here and there.
The plan is to replace old fuse box with new 17th ed consumer unit. Which will include a...
Hey guys can anyone clarify for me the safe working wind speeds for working on roof?
All i can find is 17mph but this is for roofers and scaffolders and not specific to PV.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance :tt1:

Im just writing up the 5 flats I inspected last week, all the service heads/fuses are new to within 3 years, the cut out fuses are all 100A and tails all 16mm, I know discretion is sometimes needed in this area, on some flats the Max demand reaches 90-100A whilst in others 65-75A, would...
I'm doing my 2396 design project, and would like some clues about typical commercial installations, and their maximum demand and incomers.
Its a large Argos style shop, I've got the max. demand at 500Amps, that could probably come down to around 400 or so with diversity, that'd give me a TP-N...
Hi,
I'm in my second year at college, but I'm a bit unclear on what the max Ze should be for a TT system. I know that the regs say 200ohms, and my tutor said that it would be acceptable if you found an earth rod which gave a reading of 200ohms. However several of my mates who have been qualified...
Hi People,
Just had a friend call me asking what the max zs is for a 3 phase, c type, 60898, 40A when its on a TT supply. The supply to the board is from an rcd 300ma, he says the niceic front page in installation book says 0.46 ohms but he's getting results of 4.03 ohms. I told him as its a...
hi folks was wonderin if u have a tt system with a ze of say 113ohms, and a circuit say lights with a r1+r2 of 1.33ohms, in the section on test results were it asks max zs allowed by bs7671.... the answer for a type b 6amp mcb would be 6.13. So if my zs is ze..113+ (r1+r2)1.33 =114.33
which is...
hi
i have a 60 amp main fuse supplying 63a main switch in cu. my question is about OSG table 1b max demand figures (calculations). When applying these figures ie no diversity for shower, no diversity for first ring main it seems that any installation with a 60a main fuse cannot have a electric...
Filling in a EICR i needed values for max Zs
I looked for ages using Giggle and eventually found this link

hope it may help some folk. I may even find it again when I need it...
Hello everyone,
lately alot of customers have been asking to change there standard 50watt lv halogen spotlights for the more energy efficient LED gu10's.
My question is... is there a max number of these that can be on a circuit?
Previously the rule of thumb was 10 but with the loads...
Looking at a job at the minute which is only for 3 IP rated double sockets down a garden.
Problem is the garden is almost 35 meters long, then its another 21 meters from switch fuse in the house.
Anyway, what I need to double check is when choosing cable sizes for my runs, what is best to...
When calculating the max earth fault loop impedance of a 3 phase MCCB that you use the nominal voltage ie in this case it is on a 60Hz system (120 / 208V ) and a 350A MCCB : therefore 208 / (350 x 10 (C type)) = 0.05 ohms
Therefore Zs is required to be equal or lower than this in order for the...
