    3036 mcbs

    Hi there, i was wondering if anyone could help me out quickly, BS3036 fuses that still use the original carrier but have been replaced with plug in mcbs....any idea on the BS number of these? Cant find em in the regs book and trying to find max Zs...? Cheers

    Upgrading Wylex re-wrirable fuses to MCBs

    Hi, I planned on replacing all the fuses in my consumer unit with MCBs. I found some on eBay for cheap which were listed as working so I got those, but the pin spacing is different to the old fuses. They didn't come with the base socket so is it just going to be a case of getting a new socket...

    Upgrade lighting MCBs to RCBOs - no 2 way on stairs

    Hi folks, client has asked for upgrade of MCBs to RCBOs on split board to bring up to speed. Upstairs and downstairs lighting currently unprotected and there's no 2 way on the stairs. If I upgrade to RCBO, is there a reg that I need to refer to about the absence of a 2 way? They don't want one...

    Different brand MCBs

    A customer has bought a CCU but with MCBs that are a different brand. The breakers fit in the board and on the bar no problem. Is there any reason why this should not be done??

    2 single phase mcbs tripping together

    Any ideas appreciated..I was called to investigate 2 tripping single phase mcbs on a 3 phase board. a 32 amp mcb supplies a ring main and a 16 amp mcb supplies a radial circuit.     Testing old MCBs to check they operate correctly

    As far as i know, there is no way of checking an MCB for correct operation. Then today, i've been told you can do it by placing the breaker under load and using an EFLI tester to do it. How the hell would this work, sound like bull to me.:rolleyes:

    Starbreaker MCBs

    This is a really basic question. I have an old Crabtree Starbreaker c/u (dated 1992) that uses mcbs that slot in. Is there a recommended method to remove them as obviously I do not want to use unecessary force. The instructions tell how to intstal them but not to remove. Thanks, Paul

    RCBO for Crabtree SB6000 board - which has type 1 crabtree mcbs and proteus mcbs
