So I've got incoming mains splitting (forking) off into 3 light fittings. They are HID metal halide lamps. The middle one (thats not working) is 70W, and the other 2 are 150W. I've replaced the control gear and bulb. It still just flickers blue and doesnt actaully start. It also buzzes at the...
So I'm trying to run this 400w HID light in Japan (which has 100v output) but the ballast for the light is rated for 120v-240v.
I want to know if the light will still operate, albeit at lower output, or if there is risk of damaging the light.

Hi all
Recently my company (I'm just an employee) moved into a new unit and have installed some shelving, the BigDug kind.
We've had plug sockets located above (2) each unit to provide power. This was done by the electrician so that's all good.
I need a plug socket on each shelf (5 in total)...

I’m looking for some metal clad sockets. But I need 25mm knockouts. Does anyone know any surface mounted metal clad sockets that have them? MK do some nice ones but they are only 20mm knockouts.
I have been given a short length of Emt tube from America , which is basically their ‘go to’ produce for surface wiring.
It is thinner than our version and much easier to bend than our version.
I would say it’s not much thicker than copper plumbers pipe.
But imo offers good mechanical strength...

over the years I see this on a few occasions in kitchen where an arc strike is on the front face place in kitchens.
Is there some strange science behind why this may be?
Metal shed used for storage,it’s got no doors, like a porch effort.
Swa enters the back of the shed, clipped to a commando socket,& used to supply equipment, does the shed require main, supplementary or no bonding.
