Hi Guys
Hope this is in the right place...
I have recently joined NAPIT and had my assessment. We are a limited company of two qualified electricians.
When I have logged into NAPIT-Online, I can see myself (the person whom was assessed) on the operatives list. I can't add another operative to...
Hi folks. Just a quick one as I can’t find the answer anywhere here.
I’m currently a QS with NAPIT for some self employed work I do, but I’ve recently joined a company that would like me to jump on as a QS with them under NICEIC.
Is it possible to be registered as a QS under both?
Regards
I've just had a call from NAPIT saying if I don't have the 18th Edition A2 book, I will fail my next assessment. I passed my 18th edition exam and have the BBB.
Is this a hard sell, never had this with 17th Edition amendments, or 18th Edition A1. But they also never had new books like 18th...
I called NAPIT to know what are the steps to become registered with them. I have been told I must have NVQ Level 3 as minimum or apply as experienced worker. Barely in mind I got all electrical qualifications until NVQ but not NVQ yet(City&Guilds lev.2, lev.3, 18th Edition and EAL...
I am registered with NAPIT in England for domestic installation and testing. Am I able to change a CU in a flat in Scotland? And am I able to issue an installation certificate for the work? Also, am I able to issue EICRs?
As far as I can see from the Scottish building regs, changing a CU does...
Hi all
I have been full scope with STROMA and undertake EICR's in both a commercial and domestic setting, I have all quals, ins etc to undertake these
For my first assessment NAPIT's asessment check list is asking for 3 EICR's from each category from the past year
I am just a sole trader so...
Hi,
Private landlord here.
Like seemingly a lot of people. I thought electricians had to be registered with NICEIC or NAPIT in order to carry out an EICR test on a property. Except actually I've just learned they dont actually have to be. (thats correct right?).
However, if they then say the...

I have recently qualified 18th edition (level 3 electrotechnical EAL)
Im looking into joining either NAPIT or NIC for the ease of contacting building control to sign jobs off. i then found out i will need the 2391 testing and inspection...
NAPIT OR NIC?!
Hello guys, wondering if some of you could help. Recently became self employed so have never had to register with a assessment body to be an electrician to sign off my own work.
I am looking to become a domestic installer with either of the two. Just wanted to see what was best...
Hi There,
Expect this is an old question.
I'm currently with Napit. Chose them because their Code-breakers is such a useful tool. However, their on-line Notifications facility is not working and I've spent two days chasing their support office to no effect. Any of you folk had a better...
Hi all,
I'm brand new to electrical work and a local electrician has agreed to let me work with them to gain some experience.
They also suggested that instead of doing the level 2/3 and NVQ etc, that I could consider gaining some work experience and then when competent doing the competence...
Hi all,
i was thinking about joining a scheme to be able to sign off my own work and be able to take on more work.
I've been working for a company for a few years now and doin all kinds of work in under their banner but want to start doing my own side jobs like board changes etc but need to...
Had my first initial assessment from the Field Officer yesterday and please to say I passed.
So in a week to 10 days I should be fully live on the competent person registers and can really get stuck in to getting some work under my belt.
Initially thought it was going to be quite daunting. But...
Can anybody assist me with the conflict between Napit codebreakers and the 18th Regulations please.
I have just had an EICR done on a purpose built flat built in 2006 (conforming to the 16th Regulations), the electrician states that according to the 18th edition I don't need RCD protection for...
I have a consumer unit to move for my final assessment for NAPIT, the cables are too short. it is currently too tight to the ceiling.
What is recommended to extend the cables by no more than 20 cms.
Thank you Eleanor

I am just after some advice regarding the NAPIT schemes, I've chosen napit after they have been most helpful during application, reason I say this is because I'm currently in Taiwan so everything has had to be done through email which they have been spot on with. NICEIC haven't even replied to...
Am I right in thinking that when filling in an installation test sheet for a sub board that is fed from an mcb in another its that mcb rating i put in the supply characteristics and do another sheet for the supply board with the intake fuse for that supply characteristic? Thanks
Hi Guys.
Napit sent me an email with requirements for my first assessment via zoom.
Does anyone have any idea what they can ask me for 2 hours !?!
Especially I have on site assessment next day.
