    Two way two wire switching

    We have come across an installation with only two core cable supplying both switches, the earth is not used and only common and l1 are used on both switches. Can anybody supply a diagram of the wiring of such a system?

    Is this normal way of fitting a main isolation switch?

    Had a mains isolation switch fitted (meter>dp switch>temporary cu unit) but I thought being a dp switch both live and neutral should be connected to the switch not just the live?     Neutral is a circuit conductor that may carry current in normal operation

    Ground and neutral - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Neutral may carry current in a conductor during normal operation? This confuses me. I thought that your neutral always carried current, that without it, you wouldn't have a complete circuit. What does this mean? Thanks in advance.

    smoke alarms vunerable to ir test?

    hey all!! would a smoke alarm circuit be vunerable or give out false readings on the live insulation resistance test? or is it worth me just connecting the lives and testing to earth? well and the interconnecter. cheers all :)
