At college I was ask to set the overload of a three-phase motor. I used P=V x I
Do you divide the motors wattage by 3 (as its three-phase) then divide by 230 or do you divide by 400?
Hi All , How do i size the main , star and delta contactors for a motor control circuit using a 50Kw motor ? Do i just rate all contactors at 50 kW ?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks :)
A conveyor system at work is powered by a 3-Phase Motor. It's a simple setup really. It is DOL start/stop
system with a telemechanique thermal overload. The problem is, when the conveyor becomes jammed-which is regularly does the overload does not cut out fast enough to prevent damage to one of...
Just want to find out if this overload unit will be able to be set for the max rated current on this motor. I don't think it will though as it can only be set to 1.6A and the max rated current is 2.1A in delta? Am I right in saying this?
How do I check a thermostat in an electric cooker to see that it is corectly working or not?
One thing which concerns me greatly is when the oven reaches it's max temp setting, all the house electrics trip and go out, which has happened several times.
Will this be a fault due to the...
Hello all,
Can anybody help.....
Couple of weeks ago I changed a few fittings for a mate. One ofwhich was a blown socket, the facia had burn marks on the outlet. I just replaced it with a new double socket and everything seemed fine. Today my mate rang and told me that when plugging in an...
Hi all!
When you are designing new circuits, do you design for both overload and fault protection for every case? Or for fixed loads design without overload protection and make adiabatic check as well?
A motor at our site was tripping on overload protection after 7-8 seconds when it was taken in service. When motor winding resistance was checked from phase to phase using multimeter, it was found that L1-L2 2.7 ohm L2-L3 2.7 ohm & L3-L1 5.7 ohm. What does it signifies & how it is effecting...
im doing inspection on flats and ive came across
all 61900 type c rcbo ive recommended changing to type b
due to type c for inductive loads . could cause overload
what is the general opinon on type c on domestic?
Hey all
I had a call out today to a Motorbike shop.
In the village where the shop is they had had a power cut the night before, they had come into work the next day, the power had been restored so they powed up, everything seemed to be fine exept the Compressor used by the mechanics in the...
Hey,
I'm a student going into electrical in BC, Canada. The mill I'm at has me looking at a problem. The situation is that when a log goes into the canter, and it gets jammed, the breaker trips and the PLC goes too. At the moment I do not have much information on anything else.
I was...
