I have tried to find info on connecting WS2812B led strips Dat/signal line without any luck. I wondered if it was ok to connect the dat/signal line in parallel to 2 existing led strips from the controller or does it have to be in series?
Page 337 cites UL testing, where arc resistance was found to be only 30 milliohms:

Anyway, here is the value and equation as dervied from UL:

Refreshing my knowledge on circuits for an electric project & would appreciate if you can let me know if my understanding as I will explain/show below is correct.
Figure 1 shows a wire containing a live (red) & neutral (red) (similar to Romex NMB w/out ground shown) and Each bulb A-D are...
Hi all I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on an issue I cant seem to get my head around, say we had a metal socket earthed and a water pipe with main bonding, I touched the both of them in fault condition on socket (live touching metal box) now i understand the bonding puts the pipe...
First Install with a Parallel circuit or this distance.
Connecting 2x 12V 90ah AGM batteries in parallel and the cable length with roughly be 2 meters in length. Putting the batteries any closer is not an option due to space restrictions. 20-30amps is roughly what will be drawn at one given...
I have an air compressor plumbed throughout my shop feeding a dozen outlets. To avoid excess compressor running due to inevitable small leaks I installed a 120V solenoid on the compressor output. The solenoid is wired to a count down timer so when I need air I start the timer for one hour. At...
I currently have a shop which has 3 phase 6mm cable running to it but the shop is only allowed single phase, currently renovating and they need more than a 32a supply. Can I parallel 2 of the 6mm and upgrade the quicklag breaker to a 50a at the MSB and make it a 50a main switch at the shops sub...
Hey All,
I have 11 low voltage outside led lights in a line on the driveway , I want to PIR them at the bottom to trigger when I come home and a PIR at the back door to trigger them when I leave the house.
I believe if set with enough time delay then this will allow me to come home , trigger...
"433.4 Overload protection of conductors in parallel
Where a single protective device protects two or more conductors in parallel there shall be no branch circuits or devices for isolation or switching in the parallel conductors "
I am in debate with another spark. I have installed 2x2.5mm...
Hi
I am a current student studying to become an electrician and a question has thrown me. I'm wondering if someone could help, there is a question on one of my home work books. "complete the following table assuming the resistors are connected in parallel?" the example I will give is R1 is 120...
Need to use a pair of 6mm T&E in parallel to run an 10.8kW electric shower. Both same length and same route, will be joined to a single 10mm at the load end, and protected accordingly.
Can anyone recommend a terminal box which I can use for this?
I don't fancy putting a pair of 6mm into one...
I'm a DIY kind of guy, and was never really fond of household 120V/240V power before, until I had a friend who used to be a journeyman help me understand enough to wire up my house we are completely renovating.
So, after putting some walls and trusses in place, and running conduit all day...
Hi,Im just a fresher as design engineer. While browsing, I read that 330ohms resistor has to be placed parallel across an LED light, can someone tell me if it is necessary and why?
Hi All
A while ago a customer asked us to move a 1970s single phase corn mill and return it to use.
It had an old series parallel starter with a lever on it ..which we replaced with a crompton controls series 3000 starter...all good and running.
Now they had another ip rated box attached to...
We are trying to use a 5000 watt generator to run a ULT cascade freezer in the event of a power outage utilizing an extension cord. The generator has two 5-20 duplex receptacles, rated at 2500 watts each, and one L14-30 receptacle rated at 5000 watts. The freezer runs at 120V/16A according to...
I've got to test a bunch of temporary electrical distribution boxes (see photo example) for an events company I work with. I've done this many times before and have no issue with the actual testing. However, normally I would do it on the bench with a non-RCD'd supply so as I can test and record...
OK I've got 2 contactors where the coils are wired in parallel.
They are sitting right next to each other,
One pulls in and holds perfectly well. The other pulls in and drops out. Pulls in again drops out. Ect. Ect. For as long as you are trying to keep the contacts closed.
I've tried...
Hi all,
easy question I’m sure, so hope someone can clear up for me.
If there are parallel paths on a circuit upon which Zs is being measured, will the parallel path cause the Zs to go up or down, and could someone explain why this would be so at all?
I just need a clear understanding of this...
I'm looking to install some LED lighting strips to light some display shelving.
It will consist of one driver going to a controller which will then be split into 8 x 1m length strips.
I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea on how to split the power from the controller to each strip i.e...
Hi, I have lighting in the bathroom plus an extractor fan. There is one switch for the lights and one switch higher up for the fan. I installed a PIR in the bathroom and wnated it to turn both lighting and the fan in parallel to the switch. I fed the PIR from the fan's permanent F and took the...
