hi guys doing calculations ov pfc at the consumer unit i have a ze=0.09 getting the figure ov 24ka doin 230/2400=0.09 is this correct many thanks:cool:
Hi all, where stated to record the MAX PFC not the measured PFC where do you atain this value from without contacting the distributer, or can you put the measured value in both boxes?
also i noticed on the new 17th edition certs that there is now two boxes under design construction etc...
got a submain feeding a consumer unit, bit unsure with the pscc, pefc and pfc
pscc would be voltage / resistance of live and neutral cables plus the ze
pefc would be voltage / zs
how do i get pfc, is this just the highest of the 2 readings?
if i was fitting a 3 phase board pscc would it just...
just done a PIR and the PFC is 200Amps, now every reading was fine but the has got me a wee bit, old rewireables in old part of house and new tybe b's in new part, how could this be?
just testing an install for my pending inspection and doing the testing as per onsite guide so do it in correct sequence and im doing my pfc checks and have to low readings,
L to N 0.47 kA acceptable
L to E 93 A is this acceptable and normal?
am i being a doyle and forgetting something here?
its...
Hi all advice is greatly welcome
I originally had reading of PSCC 19kA until I returned my meter to Megger who have sent it back repaired and recalibrated.
I have a high PSCC 7.2kA this is on a TN-S system there is a sub station about 340 metres away CU is a wylex dual RCD jobby the breakers...
Just been given a job to repair a 300KVA Power factor Correction Unit I have never worked on them before but realise there are large capacitors in them so am wary. Anybody got any experiance on testing them and what the the risks are there after full isolation.
Thank you
i think im having one of those days today, just back from a job, done a few tests and the pfc is coming back at 1ka this seems really low to me,
on other tests it was coming back at 0ka
my only guess on this that the transformer, is very very close to the property in order to have a reading...
Hi chaps,
a friend of mine has quite a few Fluke 1652's , I myself always use Megger.
My nephew now works for his firm, and uses as I do a 1552.
On testing a block of flats he gets readings in excess of 17ka (low eli etc)
His boss tells him the meter isn't giving the correct...
So this is what I found:
1. At one DB found live+neutral to earth ins res was about 181Mohm... bit lower than perfect but never mind.
2. Same DB had a 30mA RCCB mounted underneath it protecting the full board, even though it was a split board, and had a RCD 30mA in it already. This is...
On a caravan site, just tested the main incoming Ze and PFC.
Ze= 8.67Ohms, (TT System, so less than 21Ohms OK)
but PFC was 21AMPS??? as in 0.021kA
there are RCD's at different points throughout the installation, which keep tripping randomly.
also switching the shower lights on, was...
Hi guys just wondered what your thoughts are on this. Been out to a city center post office today it used to be a bank but has been recently converted. One of the contractors involved was fitting new chiller units for the shop side but refused to connect into the board because the PFC was higher...
I’ve just been to look at a job where the client wants to have a couple of extra sockets fitted.
The consumer unit is an old rewirable with no rcd protection, but there is a new garage rcd/mcb board fitted next to it with a spare way that was installed just 2 weeks ago by their landlords...
Can someone tell me how to correct measure Prospective fault current and external earth fault loop impedance (Ze) for a domestic property in Three-phase supplies!
I use Fluke 1653
Thanks in advance
when doing a PFC test on the lighting circuit, it keeps tripping the MCB type B . Also had problem with testing the fault current where I get trip on my meter. Using a Megger MFT 1552 for both test. Any suggestion as to why.
Thanks
Hi all,
Just measured Zs at socket outlets and I get a reading of 120 ohms, also the PFC is 2A.
I take it no earthing, the supply incomer has a green cable coming out of it after the cutout, which goes no where?
Customer has ordered a PME.
Could someone explain to me the PFC result, I am...
couple of questions...in regards to r1 r2, when testing what is the lowest reading thats accepted on say a 1.5 t&e, to a 10.0 t&e I got a reading of 0.39 on a 10mm t&e and I got a right -------in for puttin it on the sheet..
and is this the right calculation for pfc? voltage divided by Ze...
Never been sure on this one as I know you record the highest, I use a fluke 1652 and I have to use all 3 leads just connect to main earth and phase and neutral it gives me ZE and not sure if its pfc or pscc reading or does it calculate the highest
Evening all,
Can you give me some advice. I have been to do some testing today at a premises that is on a farm which has a 3phase +Neutral incoming supply. as a TT system. there are no signs of any earthing arangments what so ever.
the part of the system I have been to look at is fed via on...
hi, i am studying for 2391 i hope i am grasping most things but am rather confused over
