Hi All,
I am an Electrician with 15 years' experience of installation and testing; I have my 2391 and can call myself a competent person. I am planning to go self-employed and there are a couple of things I am unsure of as follows.
To carry our PIRs on domestic properties is it a requirement...
Hi,
Does anyone know i its possible to replace a set of light switches in a stairway that all control the same lights with a set of PIR switches?
The current rocker switches have L1, L2 and COM but the PIR switch I am looging to replace them with only have L1 and L2.
Thanks
Does anyone know of quality external LED floods/PIR floods in the 10-30w range that will last? Everything I fit I have to go back to. Our CEF used to supply Deluce, now Challenger. Lately it's no exaggeration to say I'm spending several hours a week going back to this crap at my own expense...
Hi. Am looking to install some garden lights in parallel. I am looking to do some of the work to keep costs down. And employ the services of an electrician to make connections.
Am hoping to have a switch and pir for the lights. So that I can switch off all the lights when I don't want them...
so I have an porch wall light that is switched inside the house which has a separate PIR outside the porch. I am removing the PIR completely (as it no longer was switching the porch light on so assumed the pir was defective as the external floodlight on the same pir wiring (next paragraph) is...
While looking over a PIR for a domestic flat, the approved electrician has entered for the Cooker circuit a cable size of 10sqmm but has scored thro this and entered 8sqmm. For the shower circuit he has entered a cable size of 8sqmm (no score out). So he must have intended a size of 8sqmm, but...
Hi. Recently purchased a Pir switch to control one light in my kitchen. Has the standard Live and Neutral but also has a 'A' connector. If I wire up to just the L and N it does not work. The manufacturer has stated the following and I am not sure what he means ...
"Yes so live in and live out...
Hi,
I would like to bypass an outdoor light PIR and ambient sensor as I have put a wifi smart bulb in, which gives me more more flexibility about scheduling the light to come on and being able to turn it on and off via google assistant etc. Using the maximum duration setting on the...
hi all, was wondering if anyone has used a corner mount floodlight so i can light up 2 areas opposite from each other from the same pir, i know you can install it all separate from each other but want to know if there is a all in one fitting for this, i have saw lights that may work but the are...
The company I work for periodically gets its EICR'S audited, one thing they pulled us for was plastic blanks in pre Amd3 boards 'easily removed without the use of a tool and readily accessible'
They put this down as a 'code 2'
Can't really fathom this, what about pendants? Which have been...
I've a pal looking for a little help.
They want to install outdoor lighting (a mix of CFL , GU10 and possibly LED Fittings) within 4 pir zones controlling approx 4 - 6 lights per zone. All the wiring is going back to a garage where a system unit will be mounted. He wants to then mount a control...
Change a 1 gang 1 way light switch for PIR from RS. Customer the idea that it had a lux meter on it and also a manual override just like a regular switch.
However upon fitting I can only say it's the most sensitive thing I've ever fitted. Followed the set up and lux levels etc but when screwing...
Hello guys
I need to replace some push buttons wired in parallel with wall mounted PIRs.
Currently there is no neutral in place at the push buttons and I have been told the battery operated wall pirs are no good?
Is this true and if not can someone recommend something?
I normally take out the...
Hi all,
I have been asked to install a PIR outside light on a commercial property. The feed has to come from the existing lighting circuit inside the stockroom which is on a two way switch system. I need the PIR light to work independently from the switched inside lights. The outside light come...
Anyone currently able to tell me which pir sensors are able to be wired in parallel and which aren't ( usual factors and suppliers) as I need to have two controlling one light and don't want to have to return them and get alternatives.
PIR done on domestic.
32a ring final circuit with RCD protection. R1 slightly high, most likely due to poor connection (0.92ohms)
R2 ( 0.54).
Does this need coding?
Zs is .53 so no non compliance there, but ob there is a clear fault on the R1.
Usual thing, long hotel hall lights left on all day and night so control solution needed, is there products I can swap over from standard 2 way and inter switching, ceiling mounted preferred, I have had a trawl but cant see any at does not require a load of farkling around
