Hi
Looking for some help.
Is it possible to wire a pir light that only has line-neutral-cpc
With a normal outside light normal connections via a light switch.
So both lights come on when the switch is operated but only the pir light works when the switch is off
Hi guys,
Just need some advice.
I want to add a couple of security lights to the front of the house off one PIR. I have a porch ceiling light which I want to 'tap in to' to supply the power. Is this possible? If so, how would I do it?
The issue I am thinking is that the power to the outdoor...
Small job for a landlord friend of mine having problems with tenants turning off the bathroom isolation switch and causing damp to the property, Can I replace the fan isolator with a pir so if their would like to isolate the supply their would have to do it from the consumer unit any advise...
can any one recommend something at least half decent looking? It's not possible to alter the wiring to incorporate a staircase timer and retractive switch. Cheers
Hi all
I am in the middle of replacing lights in a warehouse/office to LED panels, LED high bays etc. The client has asked for an area if possible to be on a timer between 7am and 7pm and then a PIR for the rest of time. It is all ran in with singles in lightning trunking.
I know the easiest...
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a decent quality unit of 20-30w rating with a 4c tail so a manual switch can be connected?
The on/off/on/off override type is not wanted and neither is separate PIR's. The present wiring to a number of knackered halogen units is 3c with a switch wire available.
Hi all, looking to fit a PIR sensor and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Senario - an outside corridor has 6 lights, presently on a timer. These 6 lights now need to come on and off by a PIR Sensor.
I have previous experience as an electicians mate and have done odd indoor PIR Systems...
2 floodlights (50W and 30W) have been installed on the same circuit at my property. They are JCC units and both with PIRs, (LAP brand). However, the 50W has also had a manual override switch.
The 30W operates normally but the 50W unit has an unpredictable behaviour of switching on either very...
I have a security light which has a built in PIR sensor. I installed this app 18 months ago to replace one that started to activate for no apparent reason. Well the same thing is happening again. The light is coming on at various times during darkness. last night was no different, there was...

I want to replace a cheap and nasty Halogen light with a LED one that should lastat least 10 years.
With the Halogen one, it can be triggered to switch on for its preset period by interrupting the supply to it, when dark, for about 5 or more seconds. I don't want what appears to be the common...

Hi all
I have been asked to do some outside lights with a PIR and an override switch inside.
I believe the best way is to run from consumer unit L + N to switch and then a 3 core to sensor (PL,SL and N) and then SL & N to lights. Someone has already ran the SWA cable outside (under the...
hi all,
Got a 2 gang switch in my utility one for frourecents and one for a outside light.

Does anyone know why manufacturer's instructions would state not to have more than one fitting on the circuit? These are customer supplied "frog eye" external floodlights, each fitting has 2, 20W eyes.
