Hi chaps...
Where can I get one of these, customer wants to be able to lock off supply every night by turning key off and taking out (as opposed to actually having to put seperate padlock on isolator)
hope that makes sense:rolleyes:
Being asked to install a 500mm plus diameter ventilation fan on a 1ph system.
What are the benefits/considerations between 4 pole and 6 pole motors?? Because I don't have a clue!!
Hi,
I am installing a new distribution board. It is supplying 2 compressors, 2 Air dryers and a 13A socket.
Is it ok to use a 3 pole isolator as a means of isolation or do I need to disconnect the neutral also?
!!
Installed a garage CU, 2 way. As the house is TNC-S an earth rod has been installed, which is giving an Ra of 102 ohms.
The supply to the garage is protected by a MCB on the non RCD side of the CU, as installation methods don't require RCD protection.
The circuit in the garage has been...
Does any body know where i can purchase a 4 pole GE 30mA rcd? It is to fit one of Denmans old 3 phase boards in there steeple range. Denmans arn't much help as they are not on good terms with GE.
Any help much appreciated
Hi All
Why must single pole devices be fitted in the phase conductor? I understand that polarity must be assured through out the circuit but is it a bit more in depth than this?
Thanks.
Its me:),
Hi all went to a job today to do a board change, did all the tests first everything spot on:confused:,so i changed the board then one side of the RCD kept tripping at 5 minute intervals traced it back to 5 double pole socket fronts.Changed them all to new single pole...
i have come cross this word a lot, like 'single pole switch', but i dont think i have understood it clearly. i assume ' single pole' means one line of live or neutral, but still not sure, can anyone give me a good explaination?
cheers
Basically need to wire a shed 6mm swa into the non rcd side of a CU straight into a MCB. Garage will have its own RCD protected CU.
Just wondering if double pole isolation is needed at both end of the SWA?
Thanks
Was wondering what the proceedure was for changing a consumer unit. I was under the impression I could request EDF to install a double pole switch so I'm not messing about waiting for someone to come and pull the main fuse (or to break the seal and do that myself).
I called EDF and they said...
hi chaps i had a call off a guy today frm his commercial warehouse, sayin his rcd keeps trippin, the rcd is on a 3 phase 2pole with 250A 30mA trip i tested it and all seems fine, but it in the office his running 12 pcs server plus all the usual kitchin appliences, this suggests the tripping...
Could some one offer some advice please. I have been asked to look at a farm supply that has just started tripping out. 100 A per, 3 phase supply, + nutral, TNCS, + an earth spike. Client said that when EDF moved the supply from overhead to underground in SWA they suggested putting in the rod...
Hi
Can anyone tell me how to connect a 4 pole rotary isolator for use as a single pole isolator? Do i wire the N to the N block next to the earth or through the swithched fourth phase?
thanks:confused:
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a 4 pole 100A RCD (3L & N) with 300mA trip?
Also needs to have time delay.
Not too much to ask is it?:D
Cheers
Hi all,
Got a brainfreeze going on here, is it ok to use a 3 phase 3 pole rotary isolator to isolate a single phase instalation (l+n+cpc) hot tub circuit, i mean L1 as live, L2 as neutral and have L3 spare?
Thanks in advance..
