    Does anyone why power tools have small capacitors?

    i noticed while trying to repair a rotary hammer there's a small circuit board linked in with the switch with 2 5v capacitors (i think they're capacitors). are these used to give the motor a boost on starting?

    right chaps, just been advised that the brand Site are apparently quite good!! also got told they are makitas is disguise!! just had a check on the web and sure enough they have a semi makita label.... any body had any proper exposure to them before i maybe buy one!!

    Power tools tripping ciruit
