I didn’t know Mickey Mouse was moonlighting as a sparky.

At a quick look items

2. I don’t believe there isn’t a double pole mainswitch in a consumer unit.

6. The sheath of twin and earth is its own mechanical protection. Unless it’s in a workshop or somewhere where it can be damaged.

12. Nonsense.

Other things, the reasons they give for needing an rcd are not valid…. And if they were, they should only warrant a C3

Here is a pic of the CU showing the main switch. I believe the CU is a 16th edition MK unit.

My take on it for what its worth.

The photo in post #3 immediately disproves item 2
Item 1, 3 - Agree
4 - Disagree (C3)
6 - Disagree (See post #2, sheath is mech protection)
7 - Photo would help but sounds legit if not fixed and live parts accessible!
8 - Why? If 4 lighting circuits in one mcb test them as 4 lighting circuits (Maybe bigger board should be recommended).
9 - Agree
10 - Partial agreement
11 - Agree unless supplementary bonding to bathroom then C3
12 - Photo!
13 - Not necessary if there is an accessible socket below worktop which provides isolation.
14 - No Local Isolation - Agree
15 - See 11.

Much appreciate the comments from you both above. I do think this Sparky was over-egging the pudding possibly as a means of up-selling more work. Similarly, most of the items would fall away when the CU is replaced.

Since the report, I have done the main remedials myself such as:-

Item 6: Wiring now fully enclosed in trunking.
Item 7. Junction box replaced with Wagos and all fully enclosed in 50x50mm trunking
Item 12. JB and spur switch fully removed as was redundant anyhow.

What he didn't put in the report was that he found that there was a break in the kitchen FRC - on all three conductors!!
My research shows that this is highly unusual.
He hasn't mentioned this in the observations
He hasn't recorded r1, rn or 2 readings but is showing 0.88 for earth fault loop impedance. Wouldn't the latter suggest there is no problem with the CPC?

I have emailed him now two time to ask him what measurements or observation he used to conclude that there was a break in all 3 conductors, but all i get is waffle about ring circuits in general.

Further comments would be much appreciated.

Thought this was answered thoroughly on your previous post?
