Hi,
I have a spur leading to a 3kW immersion heater as shown in the image below (circled in red).
I would like to change this to a timer - so I can take advantage of economy 7.
Can anyone recommend a good timer to fit? All I need is 2 hours per day, off peak.
Thanks,Alex
I think that title makes sense. ;)
Hi everyone, I'm Mike and I have a question with regards to my battle in trying to enlighten people, about how far LED technology has come on in recent months/years.
I have a client that I need to show photometric files to, comparing an 'old school' 5ft flo...

Hi there,
Does anybody know where I could get hold of a double-pole double-throw switch (also known as a four-way-switch, crossover switch and change over switch)? I would like to control a set of lights with three switches, and it is possible by using two SPDT switches at each end (like in a...
I run my own business and have had a number of jobs to assist installing telecoms and audio visual equipment. Just wanted to put you guys across a new product which I though might be useful for others. As with many people I like to hide wires as best as possible and over the last year or so have...
Hi,
Looking for advice on the best way of fitting brackets with these tiles:
Monier:*Redland Grovebury Roof Tile | Traditional Concrete Pantile Roof Tile
Clearly if we fit brackets to the rafter, depending on where the rafter hits the tile, we will need a different height of bracket. To...
We often have engraved labels made up for control panels. The labeling is the engraved black lettering on white strip type. In the old days these label strips were riveted on the panels but nowadays it comes with 3M double sided adhesive tape which in all fairness usually holds fine. We're at...
To follow on from a rant a few weeks ago, does anybody else get the hump at having to pay £15 to search through a drop down menu of every single MCS registered PV product to find the panels they've just installed?
Or am I doing it wrong! Took me 10 mins on Wednesday to find one, its just taken...

Can anyone help me work this out? Most panels have a 5 year warranty on the panel yet have a 25 year warranty on the performance of the panel. Isn't this a bit odd?
Surely if the panel malfunctions, then the performance will also be affected. Therefore, haven't they all effectively got a 25...
I would prefer to build mechanical systems as I can be more hands-on, maybe use power tools, etc. Despite this, I am more interested in what electrical products such as computers, radios do, MP3s; I do have an interest in planes, rockets, and vehicles as well, albeit not as much.
I would...
Just in case you weren't aware, Mastervolt are recalling many of their Soladin 600 inverters, info regarding which inverters are being recalled can be found on their website
Anyone used these? Are they good quality? been offered a good price on 230W poly panels. Thinking of using on my next job.
Also if anyone can recommend a good supplier that would really help. I'm looking for panels 230 - 250W.
Thanks
Tamlight 8ft flourescent fittings seem to have a re-occuring problem in that the end-caps break away from the spring clip after about 1yr to 2yrs use, i fitted 80 fittings on site and 60% of these fittings have shown endcap problems.
