At the Church I attend, two hand driers need replacing in the toilets. One is a sensible distance away from the nearest water - about 1.5m - while the other one is very close to a basin. I understand that a toilet - no bath or shower - is not subject to any special regulations. Nevertheless...

Hi first post here, if during a rewire customer decides they want to keep existing 6mm cable from isolator point to shower so as not to rip up their bathroom wall (& of course keep same shower), but wants a new 10mm cable to isolator point for future use, is a fcu required between the different...
Hi Chaps
Just as a matter of interest really, can I use derating factors when designing the ac cable size?
eg PVWatts gives a derating factor of 0.77.
PVWATTS: Changing System Parameters
So for a 1kW install the actual ac power would only be 770W, could I then design my cable on 770W...
Hi Everyone,
I have two guys telling me different things on a 2P 63A mcb.
1 guy says it's rated to 125A (effective 2x63)
1 guy says it's 80% of this (100A)
Anybody know who's right and why?
Cheers.
Hi all
Just looking for some advice pls. I've been told that I need a new CU as the existing main switch has the wrong rating. Isn't possible to just change the main switch. Existing CU is Marbo.
Many thanks
Can somebody tell me why on the 3 phase circuit breaker in question has a 160A rating on the supply side and on the bus bar side it says 100A.
The breaker is an old GE RECORD, it also has a red button on the bus bar side of breaker. Is anybody familiar with the breaker I am explaining.
Cheers

I have a 12V leisure battery and a 1000W power inverter. I want to find out what suitable crocodile clips I need (which will be connected on to the battery terminals, from a cable running to the back of the inverter).
I notice that crocodile clips have an amperage rating (e.g. 50amp or 500amp)...
I'm part qualified so you'll have to forgive my tiny brain...
12 x 50w Gu10s that have munched a couple of dimmers.(a silly load for a room that's abut 8 Msq)
