Hi, I need to replace a Crabtree Starbreaker B32 RCBO 30mA CIRCUIT BREAKER. 61/B3230 old type which is now obsolete and can only be bought online from Ebay.
Comapring the image of the breaker online, there is a small difference to the one that needs replacing. Printed above 30mA is a square box...
I see in the UK that RCBO's are more becoming a standard installation now.
I might be missing something obvious here but I've been wondering why are the commonly used RCBO's rated to 30mA leakage current when they're only protecting a single final circuit. Surely 30mA leakage on a normal...
The bit where I cut to the chase is in bold below if you can't be bothered with the back story.
Changing MCB in main house DB for garage supply, so turned off at main switch.
Contactum metal DB (about 4 years old), 2x MCBs for existing feeds to sub boards, the rest RCBOs (full height, single...
Evening All
Quick question please and hope it's poss.
With an older star breaker split load DB, can I take out all the guts (apart from 100 DP iso) and convert to full rcbo?
Are all the 'plug in bits' a live terminal (e.g behind where RCCB currently is) ?
Would make my life easier if so ;-)...
Had a couple now where they won’t reset after a fault current is put through it. Lamp blowing etc. switch goes floppy and won’t reset.
Used to fit Hager and never had a failure. Tempted to switch back now. Anyone else had similar issues or just my bad luck? Probably fitted 150 fusebox RCBO’s...
Hi, what do you guys use to test rcbo trip times at the rcbo in DB? My Fluke test lead can not reach far enough for contact, I can't see any long reach probes for the Fluke 1662.
Any advice greatly appreciated :)
Hi everyone, can I install an EATON Rcbo in place of an MEM C32 MR30 Rcbo? I understand that Eaton have bought MEM, our merged. I know it's not good working practice and can invalidate insurance but I'm struggling to find an MEM C32 Rcbo and the client isn't going to replace the whole board.
Dear Forum,
I am hoping you can help as not only have I already had a qualified electrician out who couldn't find the problem, I've put in hours of research myself so far and still not entirely sure what the solution should be.
I work from home and have a number of APC Back-UPS 850 UPS devices...
No spare ways in the consumer unit. There are two low current radials on their own RCBOs. Do the regs forbid putting the two radials onto the same RCBO - that is two L wires into the one RCBO?
Got an odd one.
Supply is TPN TN-CS and all looks reasonably tidy but the circuit schedules bear little resemblance to the DB contents.
I have a piece of fixed equipment that is generating intermittent faults and tripping the C16 RCBO. The circuit tests fine at 999MOhms at 500V on IR. So it's...
I have come across a couple of Eaton RCBOs in Memera 2000AD boards and they don’t trip at the board when tested but do at the point of use/load, what’s up with that then?
Cheers
Hi Folks
RCBO or C/U change that is the question!
On the 18th edition the lecturer in a conversation said if the C/U is not non combustible you cant make alterations i.e fit RCBOs for circuits; this ring true with anyone else?
Loads 16 and 17th edition boards nothing wrong with enclosure but...
The board in the picture below has 2 x RCBO's in it, they look like matches so I'm guessing schneider is the new merlin gerlin and that these RCBO's are a perfect fit?
However, Schneider seem to do other RCBO's. Easy9, acti9 and others. The Acti9 looks like it may fit this board but it is more...
Just changed a 32amp rcbo on a cooker circuit. Obviously done the checks.
The oven light is coming on. But it's not switching on to cook.
Was the starbreaker type. You think it's something to do with the rcbo.
Thanks.
