I may be asking some very stupid questions from time to time and this is probably one of them. But anyway my background is in electronics and not electrical work so I have zero knowledge of the correct terminology for many electrical items, nor do I have much knowledge with regards to current...
This might sound like an obvious question but do rccd's have overcurrent protection?
When you buy a 17th edition board that has two double pole RCCD's one at 63A and one at 80A are these RCCD's effective for overcurrent as well as earth fault leakage?
I have been looking at double pole RCBO's...
Hi All,
Quick question,
Have dual RCD board, one circuit on its own is a smoke alarm. I have read all this stuff about smoke alarms being on their own RCBO or with the RCD gang. Can someone please explain why it would be bad practice to put a smoke alarm circuit with others ?
My...

Was wondering if there are any types of circuits that could be sensitive to RCBO's???
I need to put an RCBO on a circuit with lots of computers and the like on it, the last thing I want to happen is a nuisance. These computers have to be running and can only lose power once really.
Also can...

Hello, I regularly visit this site, but this is the first time I have posted.
I am hoping that somebody out there is familiar with Gewiss Consumer Units, and knows where I can find compatible RCBO's? Many thanks, Mike.
Just installing some MEM 24way 3ph metalclad DB's and having bit of trouble with rcbo's.
One board has 25 rcbo's along with around 25 mcb's, it's almost done but was wondering if anyone has come across a decent board with room to fit rcbo's a bit easier. Does anyone do a DB with a busbar that...
Hi while working in a local restaraunt i noticed there is no rcbo's or rcd's protecting the kitchen.
am i right in thinking all circuits in the kitchen and cold store should be rcbo protected?
also toilet hand driers, sockets in the bar and also outside water feature.
changing a cu that has only 3 circuits (power, lights and immersion) customer has knocked me back on the price and asked if i can supply cheaper option, was going to fit rcbo's, would i get away with just having one main rcd covering all 3 circuits if the customer is happy to have this.
