Hello all..
I have been considering CCTV for a while. We have had a few break ins recently, so it's time to actually do it!
I'd like to try and do it myself, so I'm looking for a pretty simple CCTV system and perhaps an alarm.
Any suggestions chaps? 🙂
Hi all,
We have a monorail in the kitchen with 6 lights, currently 24v halogens (MR16 GU5.3). The transformer is tech lighting AT6024T. I want to replace the bulbs with LEDs, but 24v ac bulbs are hard to find.
Any suggestions for replacement transformers so I can put in 12v bulbs instead? I...
Hi I’m just in the process of my L3 and have come around to doing the C&G Unit 104 Design Project. Does anybody have any recommendations of design software I can use on the PC to complete the drawings electronically? Many thanks
I am an electrical labourer currently doing my own research on Alarms to self-educate as much as I can.
I would like to state the general rules I have learnt so far and would like to know if there's anything else I should be aware,
Smoke Alarms, 2 types - Ionisation and Optical (Optical is...
I’m looking to buy a set of Spirit Levels. I can’t justify at the moment the likes of Stabilia, or Milwaukee and others that cost a few hundred pounds.
I’ve come across a nice set from Bahco...
Hi
Can anyone recommend any reputable and cost effective online training centres in London which provide the 18th edition course including the exam?
I’m based in East London and want to see what organisations are out there in London which provide this course. I’m looking for online...
My very well off customer wants the most quiet ceiling mounted extractor fan there is. They have stipulated that cost is not a barrier and they just want something quiet.
I have used one extremely quiet fan in the past, but it simply didn't do it's job, so that's pointless. This fan still needs...
We are going to fit outdoor soffit lighting IP65 with top and bottom set controlled separately.
Are there any light brands that are recommended and where would be the best place to purchase online?
It’s a bit of a mine field with beam angle and wattage/brightness. Not sure which is the best...

Hi All,
I'm looking to purchase a soldering heat gun/station to help with the removal of a surface mounted chip soldering to a motherboard.

Hello all,
Firstly, I am not installing this myself and have several pros coming in to quote in the new year. A couple of years ago, most of the first fix was done with with FP200 cables to each room and corridor.
I am now looking for recommendations for addressable fire systems/panels for a 7...
Hi gents, after some product advice from those who do test-and-tag on a semi-regular basis.
We've got a customer with an MCC where all the circuits are RCD protected but there is no neutral anywhere in the panel, it's 3P+E only. (I know this for a fact because I was the one pulling in the...
I'm going to need to make some 'temporary' UPS systems next year - I'll have to find possibly some rack mount units that can live in an outdoor cabinet, probably I guess with a fan involved too for ventilation. Only need to be 3kVA, nothing 'clever', no computers to link to or anything like...
I’m loving my new Magnusson Trolley. It’s great. I am now looking for a service bag that I can use, when doing maintenance and breakdowns. Would anyone be able to recommend one?
Can anyone recommend a tumble dryer that meets these requirements please.
Condenser location dictates non-vented, don't mind if it heat pump or not but must be able to remove condenser unit to clean as I had a heat pump one before but as the pump was attached to the condenser unit I couldn't...
I’m looking to get a new set of VDE Screwdrivers. I’ve had Wiha and Wera currently. But I’ve found the grip on the Wera a little slippy in the hand when in the cold. I’ve seen both ITL and Boddingtons are highly rated. If anyone has used them or has any recommendations that would be great.
