As the title suggests, i'm looking to wire a float switch to a relay.
Here's what i have & what i know...
I have the following:
*12v float switch
*240v Eheim pump
*12v lugged power supply adaptor (input240v/output 12v)

A question, I fitted a 10 W LED on my new shed and wired it through a relay controlled by a remote, to allow her in doors to switch it on if she wanted to get something from the shed in the dark, problem is the LED flashes when it's switched on, I reckon the problem is too light a load, not had...
ok so what i am trying to do is.
12v led turns on when the door is open and turns off when the door is closed.
But my sensor does it backwards " when the door is open the light turns off and when the door is closed the light turns on... on my tester it shows closed circuit when the magnets...
I came across this LINK on Wikipedia the other day, since then I’ve done some googling and found out this is a known fact that if relay hasn’t got a diode fitted, this might/will cause a spike and might damage something on the Elise S1 circuit.
I copy~pasted this form google
"Since an...
Hello, im looking for advice on a dorman smith sensel SRD earth leakage relay. I am doing an EICR on a caravan park, the Earthing system is TT and a sensel SRD relay fitted to load side of 200 amp main switch feeding various pillars. Relays have 4 settings from 30mA to 2000mA with time delay...
I'm wanting to switch a 24v boiler using 240v s plan system. I know I need to pass this through a relay but it's not a regular thing I do. Could anyone post relay type and a drawing please. Boilers 3 grand and don't want to blow it
Hi,
Have a general question here that's not in any way a loaded one, more out of curiosity as I always like to learn how things work. Such a thing would actually be impossible now because the switchboards are locked by the electrical company as well.
The builder of the house we live in now, in...
I have 2 relay switches to control switching between my Air Source Heat Pump and my Oil fired boiler. I want to mount them on rail within an enclosure similar to a Consumer unit housing. I am struggling to find a neat solution.
Any ideas?
Hi all,
I've just been to test a number of faults and have found a number of classrooms have relays on fluorescent lights? Can anyone think of a logical reason why someone would have installed them like this?
Thanks in advance.
Hi guys, need some advice.
Have a condensate pump to wire up. The pump has a safety switch cable (1 blue, 1 brown wire) that is to be wired into the 'permanent live' to a combi boiler. Therefore, if pump failure occurs, the combi will be shut down (as it condenses in both H and DHW).
The...

I have a panel, on our large hammer forge which causes a hell of a lot of vibration hitting a 5tonne tube, anyway I am loosing my retain on 2 x small contactors LC1 18a which feed a servo and lubrication system and when the tube is nearly forged into a bottle neck shape it also causes a small 5a...
captain kirk told the engineer( cant remember his name) to increace the load on the relays(full relay power in fact)
is that a wize thing to do whilst in outer space AND in another time zone-->>>>CRAZY
any captain shouldnt shout at the engineer especially about his relays
its no wonder they...
Need some help with some relays I've been looking at , what function do the orange tabs have on the relays ? , are they to operate normally open and normally closed contacts on the relays ?
Hi
We have recently installed a PV system that needs to be switched when a generator starts. The generator control panel has a VFC (240V/5A) we can use to signal the contactor. There is a 150m run to the PV supply I need to isolate. I was planning to use a 40A contactor to isolate, however...
