So....we've recently had our test and inspection report carried out on the fixed wiring in the building and a defect that has come up multiple times is this....No emergency light in mains area, this is a requirement under the health and safety act.

Hi,
I have a 30kW project where panels are to be mounted on a warehouse style building that has no form of heating but has just had a 3 phase supply added to it for the purpose of running a large heat pump. The heat supplies two other buildings (main house and maids quarters) but they are on a...
Hi,
I have recently com across a job in which I have been asked to carry out some upgrading and various remedial work. It is a TT system and the tails from the meter to the consumer unit are run about 5 meters, under the floor, via a 60 a KMF located next to the meter.
The consumer unit a...
I have heard or read this and cannot find where. I have seen or heard it proposed that PV and FIT qualification will be aligned with the RHI, This would mean a property meeting Green Deal Ticks rather than an EPC of D. It would make sense in terms of consistency but would probably only apply to...
Hi all,
Just a quick question about pat testing in shops.
Is it a legal requirement for the shop to have all of there appliances tested annually?
If they didn't, and the unlikely chance that someone got a shock from an appliance, would they be covered by insurance,
Thanks

I need to run several new supplies for studios. 16mm T&E is fine for the supplies. But I'm worried the earth may not be big enough. Longest run is 12M from Meter. I could just run cable then if it fails test run 16mm earth. But would be interested to learn the calculation so I can be sure from...

Afternoon chaps,
I think this has been discussed before, but ...
Lets say, I have a piece of old kit (in my case it is a 1970s spool turning machine, not NC, all mechanical with hundreds of knobs and gears)

Hi,
I wanted to query the requirements of fitting an extractor fan within a bathroom / utility room / kitchen whilst undertaking a re-wire / renovation.

I am installing a 32 amp socket in a commercial kitchen (3 phase) to supply a 12 kilowatt oven. The cable is to be run from a remote DB through a ceiling void and down to the socket point in metal trunking (cable to be 5 core SY armour braided).

Have the been phased out?
What benefits will they...

Hi guys,
Some of PV installators told me that they want 4KW inverters with the max out put of less than 16A/phase. But G83 defines that is the reuqirement to systems less than 3.7kw. For 4kw, the safty should be G59. Could anyone tell me why some installators hope to get 4KW under 16A?
Thanks...
