    Requirement to Change Tails?

    Met a (proper so he said) electrician in my local Denmans. In a discussion about changing a CU he said I needed to put new tails in. I said 'wot even if they're the correct size and in good condition?' He says yes! That's new to me! Anyone? Pete

    Someones told me that to comply with the latest regs then a split load board with half the circuits as rcbos & the rest on mcbs with an RCD is no good & all rcbos is the way to go. I can see the point but it seems overkill ???

    is it a requirement to have a isolator between the supply meter and the fuse board

    Elo, Can anyone help me with some advice please. If an installation has no isolator between the supply meter is they a requirement to upgrade it when doing a PIR, if so what code would it be marked down on the PIR as in both domestic or commercial installations?

    I've been told by someone that from 2015 all new build properties will have to have a minimum of 600W solar PV installed. I can't seem to find any info on this at all. Is this just industry hearsay, another old wives tale or is it true?
