Hi, I am looking for some advice on what would be required for LED Strip lighting in my kitchen. The electrician ran cables from all the points (4) to the light switch. After looking online, I think I will need the following, and the electrician be able to connect it in the following manner...
My assessor said that the minimum CSA for a Main earthing conductor for a TT was 16mm. I questioned this as I thought it was 4mm.
Regulation 542.3.1 states every earthing conductor shall comply with section 543.
Section 543 refers mainly to the adiabatic (reg 543.1.3) or reg 543.1.4 (table...

Hi all,
I would like to start making my own lamps and ceiling lights to sell to the public, but currently I have no formal electrical qualifications.

There seems to be a lot of confusion around at the moment as some engineers are flagging up a non-conformity which i had previously never thought about.
Basically I've been sent to a few jobs where its been recommended that an MCP is put on the exit gate to a loading yard? Yes i suppose this is...
Are there any safety concerns with this being in the middle of my hallway? It has no cover and I'm not sure whether to be worried about it just openly sitting here like this

#2 Fire alarm - install in common parts, grade A category, LD2 coverage, conforming to BS 5839
A grade A fire alarm to me normally means a centrally wired system with contralised controls, so I would not get away with a wireless system with a wireless control module all mains wired?
Interested in fellow sparks opinions on this.
Client of a 15-20year old commercial/Industrial premises wants an additional 13a socket outlet installed for a specific piece of equipment, the additional wiring for this will be off a current non-rcd ring (with satisfactory Zs value) and installed...
I have been told that in order to issue a Boletin the Consumer Unit and the Meeter cupboard both need to meet certain requirements. Can anybody say what these are please.
Our property was professionally rewired, fitted with a new RCD consumer unit and certificated a year ago. The flat subsequently suffered water damage and mould which took several months to dry. The tenant insists the law says we have to have the wiring checked. Our electrician said this isn’t...
