Hi, looking for some advice for supply to static permanent caravan at bottom of garden.
My House supply is TT. From what I can gather from previous thread s, is this acceptable.
House end, SWA terminated into plastic ad.box and l+n tails into non RCD side of cu, from suitably rated MCB. Armour...

Hi all,
Looking at replacing kitchen. Current setup is 2.2kw oven, 5.6kw hob.. total = 7.8kw on 6mm cable, back to a 40a breaker. The current cable run is short..
2m from CU, in breezeblock/plaster..
2m clipped direct, to a 45a switch (for oven in tower)..
3m spurred from that, on...

I've recently carried out a full rewire of a domestic property which had a supply to a garage by use of an armoured in ducting run underground. I have taken a new feed to the adaptable box that said armoured is terminated into and have tested the armoured itself and all is ok. My question is, as...

Hello All
The wife wants not one, but two, yes, two of those NEFF slide n hide ovens you see on Great British Bake-Off. Not cheap at well over £500 each.
Anyway...can I run two off the 6mm cable coming from the consumer unit currently with a 16A breaker.
I was thinking of changing breaker to a...
I have just bought an Innuos music server not realising it has no built in Wi-fi capability, but needs an ethernet wired connection to the router. This could be done only by placing it in the cupboard where the router lives, whereas I wanted to place it alongside my Naim streamer upstairs. So...

Was originally asked by client to put a 6kw supply in for steam room on first floor which we have done
client then brings out equipment and asked us to wire it in, Turns out it's for a 3 phase supply as the client is Dutch it's from Holland an no instructions in English
After speaking to...
Morning all
Just looking for some opinions on a situation we have for an installation. Essentially we have a three phase supply coming into a building that has been converted into three dwellings each with their own registered supply meter - one per phase.
So the question is whether (and I...
Hi,
I am a general handyman, and I have a customer with a basic ceiling extractor fan in their bathroom. It is connected to the ceiling light and comes on and off with the light switch.
They now want the option of switching it off (while the light is on).
Is there a way I can incorporate a pull...
I have a query. 4 distribution boards, each fed by 25mm2 double insulated tails (approx 30m away) in a roof void. Only 1 16mm2 earthing conductor for all 4 submains. The earthing conductor is then connected at the first board and looped to the other three boards. Is this acceptable? I thought BS...
This gets a bit complicated so bear with me. Basically i have 2 rural tt supplies. One is to a large farm shed with PV solar 3.6 kw on the roof and is not used much.
the other is a large house and pub combined which has a shared supply transformer with a nearby bungalow. I m not concerned...
I am rewiring a house and I am running through just one socket on the ground floor to access the first floor ring. So the first floor ring circuit would include a socket on the ground floor. Is this wrong as I have read I the building regs separate floors, separate circuits, with their own mcb
Hi,
im doing a partial reword for someone at the moment, some of it was going to stay but have convinced them otherwise.
some of it that was going to stay is wired as below, I've ripped all of it now, but it was wired with grey twin cable no CPC then a separate un sheathed earth as per...
Anybody got any ideas how to get 2 separate lights in 2 bathrooms to operate one fan?
I've got this idea.....

Hello
I am currently rewiring an old house which has tails in basement from meter going into a 60A fused isolator which feeds all the existing circuits from a fusebox in an inconvenient location, to be made redundant.
I need to send power to both a consumer unit in the basement, and a separate...
Hi All,
This should maybe be in the DIY section, but I can't post there for some reason. Mods please move the thread is needed.
Basically I'm gutting as remodelling a bathroom. All existing wiring is for the bin (ditto plumbing), and in the new arrangement ALL bathroom electrics will be...
Hi All,
This probably fits better in the DIY section, but I don't seem to be able to post there. Mods please move if necessary.

I am currently renovating my kitchen and am considering swapping my standalone cooker for a hob/single oven combination.
Would it be possible to use a dual appliance output plate on a 32A ring?
The hob = 4.6Kw
The oven = 3.65Kw
or would they need to be on separate circuits?
Thanks
Apologies if this scenario has already been posted but I am unable to find it.
Came across a the above circuit yesterday as it was tripping an RCD. Feed seems to be coming from a Porch light. This is controlled by a switch in the hallway. Feed comes down to the back of the FCU near the CU and...
