It's not very often I praise a company but for once I will!
Almost a year ago I bought a 2nd hand Fluke 6500-2 from ebay. It was in almost unused condition complete with leads, barcode scanner, software etc. It arrived, I chucked it in the corner and I immediately forgot all about it. I was...
Hey all, I've got a question about a new apartment I'm getting. I recently had a home inspection done on it and the inspector noted that my panel was double tapped and drawing what might be a little too much power for its rated size.
The apartment is a 700 sqft one bedroom and all appliances...
Basic question..jist trying to gain some knowledge.
I have 2 breaker boxes in my home. Each have 100 amp main breakers.
One is not a sub to the other. Both are serviced directly from the meter outside.
Should I assume that my house has a 200 amp service coming in? Just split between the 2...
Have very old meter coming into my cottage. I need to replace the meter. There are many meters at Home Depot. How do I choose the right meter and meter pan? I have a 240 Vrms service @ 100amperes. Thank you. Fred
Hello
Came across something like this.Is that something what i should report to DNO?.its supply to 2 flats.New cable on the left goes to first floor flat where electricity meter is.Its not SWA.All seals has been cut off.
If i report it do they come on short notice and put new service head etc.?
Hi guys, just turned up at a 3 bed mid terrace,am I right in thinking this is a looped service head? Also,am I right to be concerned about what appears to be a leak from the bottom? The earth clamp onto the incomer is also loose.
Not used my Kewtec KT77 since it was recertified in January. Switched on on Wednesday to be told it needed a service! How do I reset? If I leave it on it clears in 30 minutes. If I switch off and switch on it starts with no problems.

Hi all,
I've purchased a property recently and I've managed to have look at the main incomer today.
The main incomer and meter are mounted on slatted wood (looks like floorboard?). Am I right in thinking these should be fixed onto a flame retardant / non-combustible board?
I was going to...
Got a customer with a 3 phase looped cut out. Only use one of the phases and there is likely a second fuse on the adjacent holder/phase.
I have asked the DNO to take a look and advise as the customer wants an EV charger. With a looped supply you should get dnos advise first. ENA guidance also...
Does anyone know off hand when the 5th edition is supposed to come out, with the lockdown I can't get an official response.
The draft "in service inspection and testing 5th edition" was out late last year for comments, and as I haven't got a copy of that, I don't have the timescales that were...
As above,
This is a vacant premises where the supplier is charging monthly even though no electricity is needed. They are refusing to cancel the supply.
Is there a requirement to maintain a supplier on a connection, even if it's not in use?
Many Thanks all
How many feet can 10-gauge Romex run (inlet box to service panel) and still properly support 30-amp inverter generator? Do I also take into account the 25-ft of 30-amp wire (3-pronged locking) that connects the generator to the inlet box?
Hey guys,
I just purchased a home that was built in 1960. It has a 100 amp service coming Into the house with only 12 breakers in the panel. A buddy of mine who is familiar with electrical keeps hounding me to upgrade the service to 200 amps. I don’t think I really need 200 amps. I was...
Want to know if I can add two 50 amp breakers to my 100 amp service panel that already has 2 x 15, 8 x 20 amp, 1 x 30dp amp, and 1 x 60dp amp breakers

Hi,
So I Carried out an EICR at a business park. which was originally 2 buildings with 2 separate metered supplies, now the buildings are joined together. It’s gets interesting as some of the rooms are now fed from 2 different DBS from different service heads! I’m aware this is very wrong, it...
I have some vintage service station lights similar to the attached photo. However, they don't have any sockets, nor anyway to connect them to the conduit. I've been unable to locate these parts.
