I have split the micc cable leading up to the room stat in my appartment and was wondering if anyone know how this will be wired as i have no wiring diagrams for the installation. I am an electrician but have no idea how this is connected.
I know that its fed from economy seven on its own board...
Hi,
I have a 3 core 2.5mm SWA cable connecting the main CU to the CU in the garage (30 ft away - detached). The garage’s CU has 100A main switch with 2x16a & 1x6a MCB’s for two radials and a light circuit.
My question is, the cable already has an earth core but do I still have to terminate it...
Must underfloor heating always have an earth?
I was under the impression that it always needed an earth, but a builder I sometimes do work for has already put it down and there are only two wires and no earth at all.I know that normally the earth is the metal sheathing that comes with the...
Hi guys,
Had a situation the other day where the armour sheath on sub mains was carrying a voltage of about 55V.The sheath was not being used as an earth and was only there to give protection to the cable. Can anyone tell me why this occured?
Many thaks
Oh yes, this is my first post. Be as kind as you wish ;-)
I'm maintaining a building and found a white fungus on the outer sheath of tails within a metal enclosure and a 3-phase switchfuse. I'm wondering if it's something to be concerned about; I presume it's a result of humidity since the...
Dear Sirs, we are in production of a LSOH cable, now we radiate insulation once, after sheathing, radiation another time. As per talk with customer, we can radiate sheath one time only. When we do the samples as suggested by customer, the insulation and sheath stick to each other, the insulation...
I was working with some old RB T&E and also installing some new harmonised T&E and the sheath on the old stuff was much tougher.
Anyone else notice this or is Prysmian a little soft?
I cant find anywhere in the regs that state cable sheath is to be used if rcd protection is used at cu?
I always do as best practice, but if i was chasing out thin cable runs and cable clipping onto brickwork, could it not just be patched over...................would be very unlikely that a...
could anyone help me with the short circuit capacity and maximum permitted zs of a BS3871 type 2 MCB please. And if using the sheath on a micc cable as cpc what do you put in the cpc mm2, is putting sheath acceptable.
Thanks Paul
Hi there
Just a quick question please. I am busy doing an inspection and test report for an old commercial building. Think its old NHS sugery.
Now:
There are two 32A socket rings that have used what looks like old fire alarm cable. Its two core (both cores black) cable and I am assuming that...
Hi all
Been racking my brains on bonding, got the niceic man coming round next week and want to make sure its right. There was nothing left of the main earth from a tns supply it was all rotten, so the house had no bonding !
I have used 16mm as the new main bonding and 10mm for the gas and...
morning and happy new year
i've just carried a pir and there are 6x 24way dbs all supplied by its own 25mm 2 core swa cable
probably around 25/30 years old.
i was looking for the calc to see if the armour was sufficient as the main earthing conductor.
all Ze readings at the boards and Zs...
I am sitting my 2330 L3 rig next week, one circuit is in MI, the imformation supplied states for that circuit, under wiring conductors ( as in the Schedule of Test Results) they are Live/CPC as 1mm and sheath.
I have no idea what to write down for the CPC 'mm' size.
any advise will be great,
:)
