Hey guys can anyone clarify for me the safe working wind speeds for working on roof?
All i can find is 17mph but this is for roofers and scaffolders and not specific to PV.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance :tt1:

Hi
I've been asked to move 2 x 3 phase fan control boxes with high and low speed start buttons, stop buttons and LED indicator lamps. They control 2 roof fans. Inside one of the boxes the coil has gone on one of the contactors and needs replacing, but to be honest both boxes are quite old now...
Morning everyone!
I would really appreciate some advice please.
I've bought a small 240v 18w fan to help circulate air in plastic box used for drying food (biltong!)
Could someone advise me on the best way to vary the speed of the fan?
all the fan controllers I've seen dont seem to work on...
A customer asked me to install a foolproof way of making sure his generator is running at the right speed.
The single phase generator is located on a farm and is connected to a tractor by a pto shaft. Previously they set the tractor at around 1000rpm and went and checked that the lights were...
You may notice that the forum lags a little at peak these last few weeks. Basically, we've outgrown our existing server. I ordered a brand new fresh one in November and we've been testing it and configuring it with the lesser important forums since then and we're ready to roll with it.

Can anyone reccomend a motor speed controller for a commercial kitchen cooker extractor, nothing fancy, no need for air volume sensors or tacho outputs just a single phase with pot, 16 to 20 A

I'm considering buying a used petrol generator but there seems to be some confusion as to what the output frequency is, 50 or 60 Hz.
Is there any way of finding out the output frequency of a generator?
If it did turn out to be 60 Hz, could it be changed to 50 Hz, and if so, what needs to be...

I didn’t want to put this in Chit Chat because I think it’s to important. The HS2 rail link (London / Birmingham) is under threat due to the NIMBY’s as per usual. It may spoil the views around Amersham and go through the constituencies of two Tory MP’s. As to the views, it’s got to be some of...

Hi,
Does anyone know a good link explaining how the circuit shown in the attached document works?
It is used to control the speed of motors using Diac and Triac.
Many Thanks
