Hi all a couple of questions will a 24volt dc supply switch in a coil rated for 48volts dc. If so would it be safe. Also how much voltage can a 24volt relay take could it take 48volts or will it blow the relay?
Thanks trig
Can someone offer me some guidance.
I am wanting to keep the switching pair on two zone valves aswell as the switching pairs in a time clock volt free. Mainly so that 230V isnt flying around different wiring centres.
Is there a way I can have volt free switching to pull a relay of some sort...

The wife is requesting LED lights under the bed, its all wired in to the light switch by the door as she did not want a remote control, I was just wondering what people thought about switching a transformer this way ( chopping of the plug or swapping for a round pin one ) or using an LED driver...

Re: Extra Low volt switching for lighting
What regulations are there for extra low voltage controlled 12 Volt lighting. Also are there regs for any type of low volt DC switching from 12 volt battery (solar charged) off-grid LED lighting ?
The control unit is home brew with infra red handheld...
Hi,
I'm after some ideas for the best way to do this -
A client wants his office lighting to be on PIR's (I think it's to lower his carbon footprint) but he has also added he wants them on time clocks say from 8am until 7pm then to go to PIR incase anyone works late.
The office is wired in...
Got a corridor lighting problem with a non maintained e/light at the end which loses power when the 2 way switch turns all the lights off, thus bringing the light into emergency mode when all other lights are switched off. There is a 2way switch at one end with a key switch next to it. The...

A client has a Dimplex TRS120 oil-filled 120W electrical towel rail. The element has packed up and before it's replaced I wanted to check whether the 120W element could simply be replaced with a higher wattage one, e.g. 175W (TR8404), as listed in the Dimplex spares brochure, a couple of lines...

Hi
Can you use rotary isolators to switch resistive loads on and off on a regular basis (talking 18KW load here)
I personally thought not, that it should be controlled through a contactor but I have seen another installation that is using isolators
thx
