The Solar PV Feed in Tariff is GENEROUS at 2012 prices!!!!

There seems to be some misinformation in the mainstream media that the post cut tariff is no more or not worth considering. The truth is that returns are in the 10-12% region in the south of the UK and as good as they were for most of last year: Half price solar provides similar rates of return...

PVI 3600 Outdoor 16A limited with 4.5 kWp panels

This touches on the debate about exactly which figure the Feed In Tariff calculations are based upon (sorry!): If we install a "Power One Aurora PVI 3.6 Outdoors 16A limited" inverter with 18 No. 250W (4.5kWp) Yingli Solar panels the Aurora configuration tool tells us the inverter is optimally...

    Standard Tariff vs Economy 7

Quick question guys. Am I right in thinking that a normal household with oil central heating, so no storage heaters, would be better off on a standard electricity tariff as opposed to an economy 7 tariff. Thanks in advance. Steve.

I have had a customer phone me and he has intends to install some PV panels in the next few weeks. He then intends to remove them, rebuild the house and reinstate the panels. No problem there. He then asked about the tariff he can expect. Will he drop to the new build tariff or stay on...

    FIT Tariff levels

Just a quick one, something i was wondering The banding for Fits are 0-4kw, then 4kw to 10kw etc If you install a 4kw dead on (16 x 250watt) system, who decides which bracket it goes in. or should it realistically say, 0-4, then 4.1 to 10 kw. do you see what im getting at:lol:

Feed in Tariff- a few thoughts

A few thoughts on the long term impacts of Solar installations, the feed in tariffs and the short sighted Government; Most of the panels on the maret will work well beyond the 25 year feed in tariff, the likes of Schott and Sharp have panels that are still producing 50 years on- on this basis...

The new tariff - a suggestion

Okay, I'm sure by now we've all done some sums and we're all coming to the same conclusions. We CAN make solar work even at 21p BUT only on the ideal south facing, unshaded roof. And I'm sure we're all aware how rare that particular set up actually is. Therefore, these cuts are effectively...
