Hi all, I bought a set of t5-1000 testers 2 years ago without a case which I've since found out was a big no no! Any one know where I can buy a cheap but good case for them so I still have some testers left!! Cheers
What type of testers does everybody use? Been using a megger mft 1552 for goodfew years but been having problems with erratic loop readings , it's been repaired twice and it's goosed again. Just wanted some points of view on other brands that are available !
Right a quick small debate metrel or seaward?
Never worked with a seaward but it does look like a great piece of kit?
Is it time to change or just stick with the one you know?
Looking for first tester and wondering about separates instead of combined.
A bit old school but some good second hand options to be had
Looking at some robin ones
Any thoughts or people who use them
It's pretty rare that I come across TT installations, but recently been looking at investing in a bit of extra kit so thought I'd take a look at earth rod testers.
I'm amazed at how expensive they are! Some of them are extortionate! I don't mind spending money on something I'm going to use...
Hello All,
I have recently started a PAT testing company, and from time to time i come across Fixed/wired in appliances. The only way i seem to be able to test them is to use a test block, but should i charge more for this? Seems to be quite common that some PAT companies don't test fixed...
Hi guys,
I'm looking to get a socket tester and have just been on they're website looking at the different ones. Have any of you got a martindale tester that you could recommend or any other brands that you could rate?
Thanks in advance
Toby K
I have had three multi testers so far and found them unreliable!
They are over priced and over rated!
I will be going back to Meggar, tried and tested!
Hi, I'm hoping to get some good pointers as to which PAT tester(s) to invest in. I'm Currently a student at HNC level having previously completed NC electrical engineering last year. I'm hoping this investment could help fund me through the next couple of years at Uni, as student loans don't...
My company does not allow us to use our own voltage/continuity testers. Instead we must use the ones they provide for us. They're pretty cheap but do the job well enough.
I have had my testers for just over a year and the label says that I shouldn't use them after that time so I handed them...

I'm just starting a Domestic Electricians course and would like to get hold of a MFT to get familiar with so I can make the most of the workshops.
I've looked at the Fluke 1652c or the Megger 1720.
My tutor said the MFT would need to do at least the following tests:
Continuity
Insulation
