I've done first fix on a house rewire, and am followed by the plumbers putting in a completely new central heating system. I go upstairs to find, under the landing floor:
A whole bundle of cables sandwiched between heating flow and return pipes!
I've put foam insulation on the pipes to try...
1. Remove all heavy furniture from upstairs. Place in Storage.
2. Roll up all upstairs carpets. Ditto.
3. Lift floorboards to enable cable routing (not the ones that the plumber has wrecked, fitting central heating)
4. Move all downstairs furniture to centre of rooms and cover with dust...

These things are not designed to take swa. Yet when you have a few to do and the wall is a retaining wall you can't put a JB on the back for a flex.
Then it gets more of a pain when you have more then one. So what is the best way to do these things (except to not do them :p )?

Hi people, I've just registered with niceic and am waiting for my initial assessment. In the booklet you get it mentions having to have certain niceic booklets as a requirement. I currently have bs7671, osg, gn1&3. All up to date is that enough or do they get moany if you don't use there books...

Not necessarily just one man bands. but how do folks manage their jobs?
what i mean is, you may have a few jobs on the go which require several days or weeks work. at the same time lots of say half day, 1 hour, 2 hour, 3hour jobs to do. And then theres call outs!
