Went to look at a CU swap today and the customer expressed concerns over the connection of their garage distribution circuit. BG connected it back up recently after installing a smart meter. Now, it was originally connected in this fashion, but I was wanting some thoughts about the...

Hi
I’ve got these nice wooden wall lights as a present, and I’ve installed them in the living room, where there are wall light points, but no wall lights previously installed. I think they look great, only problem is I’m not sure they are electrically and fire safe. They have 2 GU10 holders...

All,
Just got in from fault finding a house with a RCD tripping issue ....... it clear cut which circuit is the problem as its almost a dead short L-E

Have you seen the story in most of the papers over the weekend about one of the plumbers working for Pimlico in london?
Apparently he is earning over 200K per year...
Having seen what they charge per hour its not that far fetched or out of reach.
They charge upwards of £100 + vat per hour, for...
hi, I've been requested to look at this installation and provide a quote to rectify as it failed an EICR.
one major problem, I can see is where the mains cable goes via the Henley type block in the middle, the block has no cover at the top so basically you could touch the metal screws...
Have a 250kW motor with the terminal box in the photo. To me it looks a proper squeeze to bend in the conductors.
Thoughts?
Other options I can think of is allowing the use of SY on this cable only or parallel cables.
Seen on news there has been a huge fire at a multi storey car park in Liverpool.
The pictures online show pretty much every car is a burnt wreck and the heat was so hot it caused concrete floors to fall through.
Makes you wonder just how hot it got in there... either way the insurers are going...
