Anyone recognise this typ of incomer in cabinet and the earth strapped to presumably paper type incomer doing EICR in flat this is the main riser off to Wylex BS1361 fuse then up to flat in 10MM² TNS or TN-C-S ?
Hello everyone,
I know this has come upquite often, I have gone back through the many threads relating tothis topic. The reason for wanting to start my own thread is afterhaving read those many threads, in the end, a definitive answereither way, is hard to find.
I have just installed anew...
Hi,
i was was under the impression that my parents had a TT system, as they live in a rural area. However it would appear to be a converted TN-C-S. Could you guys tell me what system this actually is?
Cheers
chris
Hello everyone, I'm in need of some advice
First I'll explain why I'm in the situation that is concerning me..
About a year ago I became unemployed. This was due to a lot of issues with personel life, it had became so distracting that it was effecting my work so my boss had to let me go, it...
Hi all.
It seems there has been quite some different opinions in my classroom as to who should really change the earth cable in the incoming position where the 100A fuse is, in domestic installations.
Can any qualified electrician, change the earth cable at the DNO side? Say for example on an...
H, I know this has probably been covered a thousand times, but just interested to here what people wouldn't of on this set up feeding a brick garage with steel frame And sprinkler system that will need bonding
TN-C-S (200amp) 70mm tri-rated tails (50mm Earth)(25mm bonds)➡️DB1➡️ Out off DB1...
TN-C-S supply with submain to outhouse:
Scenario 1 -
10mm 2 core SWA to insulated board in outhouse - SWA not banjo linked to local ET and earth rod installed (TT) - nothing extraneous in building.
Scenario 2 -
10mm 3 core SWA to metalclad board - SWA banjo linked to local ET...
On a TN-C-S the earth cable actually coming from the ground is about 6mm copper. 542.3.1 of the regs suggest table 54.1 (page 159) that 2.5 copper CAN be used if protected by corrosion by a sheath so the 6mm is fandabbydozy.?
Have I read that correctly..?
The ON-Suite guide suggests 16mm in its...
Hi, forgive me if this thread isn't where it belongs.
I would like the gather some alternative views on earthing systems and which one would be correct for agricultural premises.
It is to my current understanding that where livestock are present an earth stake should be used.
Can TN-C-S be...
Evening all
Been on here for some time now but never posted as always found the answers to my questions in older posts.
Just completing a domestic rewire with shed/office on DB2.
Installed new DB1 (split load 2 x 30mA RCDs) on new DNO TN-C-S supply. Great readings, no probs.
Run 10mm SWA to...
Argument currently raging at work can only be settled on this forum.
We are a large company who has our own 11kv transformers and switches. At each transformer, the star point of each is connected to earth. From these transformers,we are then fed a 5 wire 415v system, each wire being seperate.
At...
Hyperthetically.
TN-C-S in a Domestic - Earthing Conductor 16mm. Bonding conductors 6mm. I understand that the bonding conductors must be not less that half the earthing conductors meaning the the 6mm bonding in this situation is too small but they are a pain in the backside to change...
Came across this on a rewire, looks to me like a TN-C-S, but had SNE on the side as you can see, we thought as the sheathing was metal it could mean (seperate neutral & earth) and be a TN-S, never seen before and could just be coincidence, a point in the right direction would be handy, cheers.
Hi. Can any one clear some thing up with my schedule of test results for form? The situation is this. I'm testing a building with TN-C-S coming into the switch room. The earthing arrangement being used for the DB's coming out of the main switch gear is TN-S. When filling out the schedule of test...
Hi just wondered what the rule of thumb is for calculating the main protective conductor is in a tn-c-s system as l have a supply with 185mm cables and a 50mm main earth?
Hi, a question from a learner!...In the photos attached (I hope!) you'll see an incoming domestic elec supply. I'm assuming it is TN-C-S...but can anyone explain what the green earthing cable is coming from the bottom of the box to a BS951 tag on the Lead supply pipe..is this simply part of the...
Thought this might interest some. Doing a CU change. Took a quick look at the supply head, saw the earth terminal on the side and assumed TN-C-S. When the chap from EDF turned up to change the meter and connect to my isolator, it turned out to be TN-S. It looks like the underground supply cable...
