The semi-detached house next to mine is being refurbished, including rewiring work. Our electricity meters, fuseboxes etc are back-to-back on the party wall. My ELCB has tripped a few times recently, and I eventually realised that it happens when someone is working next door. Last time it...

Customer rang to say his washing machine trips the circuit in the middle of the cycle. He said, it ran for a while and stopped. Enquired on the phone and it looked like it only tripped the MCB and the RCD stayed on.
It's on a radial circuit with 16A MCB. Could someone shed some light on this...
I have installed eight LED garden lights (5.4w) and a couple of PIR lights (400w total) via a Fused Spur (5amp).
When the lights are turned on via the FS the socket circuit MCB trips (RCD is ok). MCB can be flipped on and stays on.
Wiring looks good.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

An electrical cooker stays on for a while and trips the RCD. When the RCD switched back on straight away, the cooker stays on for a length of time and trips again (doesn't trip straight away). The circuit tests OK and the MCB stays on all the time.
What could be issue and where...

Hi,
I'm investigating an intermittent problem in a flat. Every once in a while the RCD trips. The tenants have narrowed it down to one circuit, the electric hob. However, it never trips whilst I'm there, even after pouring water on the hob. I've carried out 500v insulation resistance tests, and...
