Anyone had any experience with Bellrock Plaster Partitions ? Seemed to be popular with John Lawrence (Glasgow) builders in the mid-late 1950s but I can't find may other examples of them.
The entire wall is constructed from a sort of plaster honeycomb (approx 6" wide hexagons made of solid...

Hi all,
I have a question. 17th edition states my cables need to be at a depth of 50mm or protected by a metallic sheath. The only metallic sheath around is steel conduit, heavy and cumbersome for domestic use. Is there such a thing as metallic channel?
If not, what do you guys use? Seems to...

Now, we all know that cables in walls have to be either RCD protected, deeper than 50 mm or in steel conduit.
My question is, would metal flexible conduit count?
We install a lot of cables in petition walls for offices and installing rigid conduit is a non starter, RCD's add a lot to cost, the...
It's been a couple of years and very little practice since I completed my 2330 courses so I'd appreciate a little advice to save me any grief if and when we come to sell.

My Question is if you bury the cables in the wall how can you provide the 30mA protection required for that cable and still achieve discretion because the garage board will also have a 30mA RCD.
Do you just provide the...
hi guys, I'm looking for some tips or even new materials to use for this wiring. I'm thinking of the new regs with regards to metalic partitions or wiring in solid walls which is not deeper than 50mm.
First of all I'd like to say hello, this is my first post - be gentle with me!
I'm a newbie domestic electrical installer, care of Trade Skills 4U - ie. just about sufficient knowledge technically but absolutely no practical experience whatsoever! I figured the best way to get started is by...
Hi all,
