1 switch, 2 fluorescent fittings in shed

And I right in thinking I would take N/E from CU in shed to first fitting, take L from CU (with an E from fitting) all the way to switch, run switch L back to fitting and then just Dasiy L/N/E to next fitting?
not a lot of info on the web and didn't cover fluorescent fittings in the course.

I fear you on for an onslaught of ridicule here and even though as you say you haven't been too good a lately you are asking the fundamentals -'first year' basics the more we ask the larger the hole seems to get... pls don't tell us you went on one of these get qualified quick wonder courses they are totally mis-sold and leave the graduates ill prepared...you should be looking at 3yrs training with experience to boot... The domestic installer you hold isn't worth the paper its written on and try not to take offence but the level of questioning here would be expected from a DIY enthusiast not someone holding PART P.

well the only way forward now as i see it is for a national register of electricians...
what happens is you go to college....get your quals..
you carry out sustained on site training (apprenticeship)....get your quals
and if you havn`t acheaved these then you cant come in...
its as simple as that...
we get dignity and pride back....and the rackets are no more....

We are in no way bigoted we have been gentle to be honest but you have as others have put been scammed by these quick fix schemes .... I did 3-4 yrs to earn the right to even work on the electrics in someones house safely and that was the minimum at the time.... these courses do not prepare nor give you any in-depth knowledge required to be competent to use as a career at most they are good for DIY who want to work on their own property with a little bit more competence.....I have answered your queries but in doing so i have expressed you level of questioning falls far short of a Part P domestic installer.... Harsh but true .... dont shoot the messenger attack the quick fix courses that have left you ill prepared.

Bigoted has nothing to do with it. If people on this forum, through the information you provide, deem you to be of not sufficient competence to carry out work safely and not bring risk to yourself and others, then it would be grossly irresponsible of them to assist you further. It's called professionalism.

To be fair mate, you really should know all the common circuit types and alternative ways of wiring them inside out after 3 years as a mate and a 4 week course.

I have been in the building game all my life, it's not as though I'm a banker decided to change his career, I'm sorry if the fact that I've never wired up 2 tubes to 1 switch before and just wanted to get it right first time bothers all of you. Once I've done something once it usually stays with me. Having 5 months off work didn't help. At the end of the day, I don't consider myself stupid and asking for what may seem to be trivial advice to you, will be a question I only need to ask once.

how have you supplied this shed? what are your earthing arrangements? is there any extraneous metalwork?

I hope you have not intended to export an earth on an incorrect earthing arrangement, just check the supply before exporting the earth.

"As bigoted as most of you" Are you for real? You reckon you can do the job but post a question most of us would expect an apprentice with 6 months under his belt to be able to figure out for himself.

I'm sorry but being off for 5 months doesn't cut the mustard as an excuse. In 3 years as a mate you never wired more than one light from one switch ? That doesn't sound right either, along with the fact that even if you never had wired this way, you couldn't figure it out.

I would seriously consider your level of competency before you hand over that money to the scheme to book your assessment in.
And how you going to get any work done if you are on here all the time asking how to do the basics of the job you are telling people you are a professional in ?
