Hi all

I've have my first chance as a "company" to price for a job.
its a 10bed house converted all into self sufficient flats..
fire alarm + intercom throughout ...18 extractor fans to wire/core drill

any ideas roughly the cost of this job?

I have worked it out to cost to around 12-13k supply n fit

Is to much or to less or around about right?

i find pricing very tricky , and have no1 to ask around me

any help would be appreciated.

Your well below the mark there in my opinion. Before you stab in the dark get yourself a materials list together and price that up first. Off the top of my head I'd bet your mats will come in around 6000. Maybe a tad more.

how many flats? how are the flats going to be supplied/metered? far too little info to even hazard a guess.

Spot on onions1066. Mats are around that, therefor the the would be labour costs. You say I'm below the mark.. Lol , I feel I charged too much . Thanks that's gd to know

Hi Justintime, welcome to the forum. the 1st thing we need is much more information, it is like trying to work blind as an example how many flats will there be , metering etc as already asked. but i would say as a complete stab in the dark you want to be easily double what you say.But again hard to do with out the complete spec which i presume you have.

I'd be working out the cost per flat then multiplying by 10, then adding on the systems for the communal areas - I'd say you were on the low side unless they are all bedsits.

EDIT: Are you planning on doing on your own? If so don't as you'll get hung out to dry by the builders and other trades

13k is far to cheap, can only go off your very brief description but I'll guess individual meters and switch fuses per flat with a SWA run each. I'd say not much change from 20k. If your set on that price at least bang a grand on for good measure!!

unless you are very careful, a huge cold might be caught here. it's not a run-of-the-mill job. days can be wasted waiting for other trades/DNO/ etc.
