Hi all

I've have my first chance as a "company" to price for a job.
its a 10bed house converted all into self sufficient flats..
fire alarm + intercom throughout ...18 extractor fans to wire/core drill

any ideas roughly the cost of this job?

I have worked it out to cost to around 12-13k supply n fit

Is to much or to less or around about right?

i find pricing very tricky , and have no1 to ask around me

any help would be appreciated.

Yes your Honor.....I know I was not qualified to rewire this house, but hey the money was good.....sorry for the guy electricuted while shaving in the bathroom, and the other 3 who died in the fire when the CU burnt up.....But in my defence, the guys on the Electrical Forum gave me all the advice I needed.......!!!!

There is just no limit to the stupidity of some people, that clearly have no clue, but will still carry on regardless!! We really do need to put a stop to these fast track chancers, once and for all!!

I'm not going to wade through all the responses so far but having read a few my single question to you is

"do you think you have the knowledge, competence and experience to install these flats/bedsits safely, and compliant to BS7671, and the relevant parts of the building regs?"

Well what have I said in the spec that would lead you to think that I'm not?

Take your pick.

i will be working alone, Rambo joby!
What ? 16mm isn't good enough? 63amp 30ma RCBO protection... Is that not how you would do it?
NO!!

You're just digging yourself a bigger hole, best to just quit while

not it really understanding where u coming from .. But like a women ur givin me drama I don't need
. But also clamp meters may go on in the future if elec bill are tooo high.
Which part of the regs are you referring to, the 30ma is there to comply/protect the 16mm cable supplying each board and sockets in the rooms .. This will ensure my trip time of .4 seconds This would comply with the regs + keep mat costs down
Mcbs in 4way consumer units.. Is the idea! Or I'll just have 1 RCBO in each room for sockets which would be better incase of tripping fault caused by plug in appliance not sure yet?
I wanna state I'm new and all ears I don't think I know it all
i will look into "landlord fuse" as I'm unaware of that

I'm getting worried I'm gonna balls it up now!! Haha

I manage to provide you with information proving you have no proper knowledge of what you are doing, all you do is call me names of one photo? Shows how mature you are!!!

So what is the "design teams" opinion? Or is that just you deciding on what is happening?

Very difficult to give an estimate to you with the information supplied, I did a block of 6 flats last march which hit ÂŁ23,500 and it was a tight price. We would need a breakdown of all quantities for the project and I would like to see the fire officers comments regarding fire alarm, smoke vents and fire ratings. Plus the building controls comments regarding fans and ratings for them. To finish a picture of the main incomer and your calcs regarding loads. If you can get that up I may help.
