10mm bonding

Morning Chaps,

Can I clarify something please

Doing a job today have verified main bonding to water already but its only 6MM.
Does this have to be upgraded to 10mm when carrying out any works i.e CU change.

Even if continuity is checked and acceptable???

Think you will find that BRB says yes upgrade however if all is acceptable no need. We had a thread on this not so long ago and comment was passed about a question on niceic site that stated it was acceptable providing readings were correct.

That depends on various things,

Earthing arrangement, t-n-c-s, t-n-s or t-t
Then if t-n-c-s 10mm minimum.
If t-n-s it must be at least 1/2 the size of your required main earth size.

Minimum 10mm then.

For a PME system the csa of the main bonding conductors must not be less than that given in Table 54.8 ie a 10mm protective bonding conductor for a neutral conductor of 35mm or less. 544.1.1

6mm now removed from premesis and 10mm installed.

Best answer mate no one can fault you for putting 10mm in many people would have a pop if you left it at 6mm so you have done what I always recommend cover YOUR back.
