my sds is a 110v Hilti. had it for years. posted a pic of it in another thread a while back...

If you are going to work on large sites you will need 110v and there would proberbly be transformers on site already and to have your own 110v extension lead would be a benificial but if its going to be more domestic then 240v would be ok.

Hi Guys

Im halfway through my 2330 level 3 course and am wanting to start buying tools etc slowly each month!!
Im just after some advice/feedback from people about what to buy!!
Do i buy 110v or 240v drills?
I understand that you can only work on site with 110 drills with transformer but wanted to ask what all you domestic sparkys use or recommend???

Also should i be looking at cordless sds or is corded fine??

Thanks

you can get small single socket 110v transformers that have a shoulder carrying strap and are easy to carry about between jobs.....

What about £5 adapter for you straight drill

Are they as good as a dedicated right angle drill?

I had trouble the other week as I've not got a right angle drill and the only normal drill that would fit in the gap was my fairly cheap Bosch green 18v... Was certainly considering picking up a right angle jobby but if an adaptor does the job then I'll grab one for my normal DeWalt
