I have a garden lighting job coming up could do with a couple of pointers as I tend to lack confidence sometimes.

Customer insisting on using crappy screwfix 12v spike lights. The lights don't come with transformers. So i am planning on putting 12v transformers in an ip54 box and filling the box with magic gel. Is this a practised method as never come across this before?
Thanks

As suggested the best way I have found is to run the feeds in and out of an adapatable box,I use the gewiss ones. If your running leds I find the best way is to buy a big enough box if you can hide it neatly enough, mount the driver in the box, along with some connecter strip or din rail wagos, and drill the drain hole at the bottom. This way any water ingress (which in my experience happens eventually regardless, best so far are pratleys and wiska) has a means of escape and your connections are mounted high enough not to be bathed in water should water get in. Use IP rated dome glands for the 12V feeds and if your doing enough of them, buy yourself a 20mm cone cutter as it saves a lot of time drilling the holes, and reduces the risk of cracking the boxes.
