Discuss 16mm tails in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

A lot of flats use a 16mm pvcpvc te supply as long as its backed up with a 10mm CPC it should be fine. Don't forget it's protection at the meter if over a distance.

25mm tails and 10mm bonding is stated for new builds and rewires.

16mm tails and 6mm bonding is often acceptable, given certain situations and checks.

That sounds ridiculous to me for a one bedroom flat!! The DNO cut out fuse isn't going to be over 60A.
What is this obsession with 25mm tails these day's, i bet that in the vast majority of cases that installation is never going to see anywhere near 100A, and likely not see 80A either!!!

That's it exactly, I keep seeing 'BS7671 states 25mm tails' it doesn't, it states that cables must comply with the over current protective device!

I wonder how many have just the OSG rather than BS7671?

I completely agree.

But so many muppets think they have to upgrade the tails to 25mm when doing CU changes, which is mad given the amount of 60A fuses around.
